Re: Fan RC FR-01
I just converted one myself, here is the way I recommend: remove the fan gearbox, put the diff in the front (its the correct width) source a modern rere stealth (the diff is narrower by just a tad, so you need the box and the diff) (you can use an old stealth also, but not the rere worlds or fanrc s...

Re: Fan RC FR-01
Quick couple of questions @ GoMachV .. Q1. I think i'd like to convert a Fan rc car would I be able to use the fan rc ball diff in the AE 6565 style transmission case now that it's narrower? Would I need AEs newest diff outdrives or is the Fan rc diff unit OK as is? Q2. I'm pretty sure that this is ...

Re: Fan RC FR-01
1) the best route with currently available parts imo is to move the FanRC diff to the front since our kit is designed around the older stealths (the rere wasnt around yet) and the wide FanRC diff won't fit the new AE case. Then grab the AE 6565 rear case and AE 6578 outdrives. You can use either Fan...

Gear boxes assembled, the diffs need to be shimmed. They are included in a bag with a QR code that brings you to a YouTube video to supplement the instructions.

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
I shimmed mine, took 2-3 shims per side. Luckily I have them on hand, they are 3/8 shims. Not sure your availability being imperial size

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
For apples to apples, FanRC to modern TTAE, I would personally go with FanRC for anything and everything. There is some bias there as I have worked with Cheng (FanRC) quite a bit over the past couple of years, but overall from what I have seen from the parts quality aspect, his stuff is just better....

Re: and the graphite finally makes an appearance
I do have to say the FanRC FR01 really is pretty good if you don't care about it coming from a different source from the same region.

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
We will have Factory Works chassis braces and aluminum pulleys in a couple weeks, I think you will find them worth the wait. Don't need to be used together, but the larger pulley has more belt wrap so it slips less, and the stiffener lets you run the belt slightly looser since you don't have to acco...

Re: The RC10 4wd
PopalongRC have an interview with Craig Drescher regarding the RC10 4WD, with a very vague explanation of its history, with his own interpretation of an inline battery in his personal buggy.
