Hello from Socal
Hello all, So glad I found this community since I have all old RC car/trucks. It's nice to see others sharing the same interest of vintage chassis and builds. I'm in Culver City, CA and the nitro scene is mostly gone in the area. So sad

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - November 2024 ** - Winner - Incredible_Serious
This won't have the cool factor of the custom builds I've seen win in the past, but most of my builds are box art/build manual style, and this is the first one I documented the build on here. Thought it was fitting to have it be the first I submitted for BOTM. The RC10 B2 was my second ever hobby gr...

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
No laughing 🤪 As far as my masking and painting went, this was probably one of my best in near 40 years of doing hobby rc, I’m just very impatient. I picked these exact colors on purpose, going with the lighter blue to be different. I knew the stripes would be difficult to get exact, so wasn’t expec...

Today's Haul - RC10CE
This popped up on FB Marketplace only about 10 minutes from my house for a very reasonable price. Complete with a Novak T4 and original stock motor, plus a Novak brushless system that I know absolutely nothing about. Not sure if that's worth anything, but still pretty cool. Chassis is very straight ...

Kyosho Rocky
In 1986 Kyosho unveiled a new 1/10 4-wheel drive off-road buggy called the Rocky. Marketed as their less expensive entry level 4x4 buggy this son of an Optima featured molded ABS construction throughout. It's double deck main chassis with bolt on front kickup plate and sealed bulkheads held the 4-wh...

Re: RC150 Build - My First AE 1/8 Nitro Onroad Car
So, from there, it goes just like a pan car. Put together an end, and then put together the other end, then fill in middle. The back and front went together pretty easily; the middle is taking a while. BUILD 1.jpg BUILD 2.jpg For the plates, I just decided to do my own thing. My car was missing the ...

1991 Detroit Losi prototype – tribute car.
In mid August I stumbled across a Youtube clip called “Losi´91 Detroit Conversion Kit – First Track Test Day” published by Grand Prix 3D. After watching the clip a couple of times I emailed Andrew at GP3D and placed a pre order for at kit. I still remember taking the bus to the magazine store every ...
