copper oxodizes pretty quickly. If you want to keep the shiny surface it's best to clear coat. polishing the springs would be tough, and the plating is probably super thin. You might be better off re-plating to get the finish back, although I think it still needs to be polished.

you can, especially if the rings have been badly damaged and you have 'barked' the diff. They are supposed to be tough though. no, i meant sneak up on the diff adjustment when you build it. the manual says to tighten the diff till the spring binds, then loosen 1/8th turn. I like to bring the bolt up...

caswell though pricey has a pretty good handle on all things plating etching and anodizing. Their copper plating kit uses a 'flash copper' solution, which you would have to find the msds for, but looking at the picture, it looks like blue liquid, which would be probably aqueous copper sulfate. 8.5 is probably close to the limit to reliably run that trans anyway with good traction. you should always change the thrust parts, balls and washers. they are the weak point of the design, as they handle all the loading the diff balls do but in a much higher concentration since they are smaller, th...

The Schumacher Thrust bearing for RERE cat xls (part U7216) diff will almost definitely work. amain is back ordered but they have the measurements on there: 1/8 x 5/16 x 9/64".

I have a spare 6594 set in front of me. The bronze bushing matches those measurements.
