Fibre-Lyte RC10 Worlds Front Shock Mount for 0.89 Shocks

Post by jaro »

Don't know if people will find this useful, but I wanted some 3mm thick carbon fibre shock mounts to replace/save the originals on my RC10 Worlds car. I also decided I wanted to go with a taller front mount to accept Associated 0.89 shocks and keep the looks of the standard mount, but nothing was available in the UK.

So I contacted Stephen at Fibre-Lyte who was more than helpful and within a few days, he'd made what I wanted and I received in today's post. Stephen has added it to their catalogue of products, it fits all versions of RC10 and costs the same as the standard 0.71 Worlds shock mount and is available through contacting Fibre-Lyte.

Drawing showing the alterations I was looking for raising the tower 5mm to accept 0.89 shocks. I also asked for the inner side of the upright to be slightly inclined inwards so it didn't become to thin at the top of the neck without detracting away from the looks of the original.

And some of the actual shock mount.

Wow, your timing could not have been better. I was *just* about to post a question as to how much longer to make a worlds front tower to use the B4 shocks.

What are you doing for the rear tower?

The rear I kept the standard Worlds set up with 1.32 body and 1.02 shafts. I'm sure others have used B4 shocks on the rear and will be able to help though.

I got this tower custom made at Fibrelyte. It is basically a hybrid of the truck tower and a 5mm stretched worlds tower (With a crossbar support). It allows you to fit a standard body and B4 length shocks to a RC10 with the truck nose. very happy with the result....Stephen at Fibrelyte was fantastic help as usual. Great company.

Yes it's not listed on the site, I will contact them and see if there is a reference number that can be quoted.

Pretty much. The big bores on my RC10 are b4.2 items and work perfect with this tower.

I'd be interested in the reference number too! That tower is exactly what I'm looking for.

Got a reply back.....there is no reference number with it being a custom part but it can be ordered by the description "RC10 tower-Raymond Power" . Just mail them through the email link on the site and they will send you a paypal request :D
