Proline RC10 truck Conversion ?,
So on my latest acquisition, I scored a Proline Truck conversion.
In going through all the parts, Im missing one of the axles. I did get some similar axles from a friend, but they aren't drilled for a king pin. (If you notice in the following pic, there is a hole drilled.)
(borrowed from Ebay )
Wondering if anyone has one lying around. Also wondering if there are any conversions out there as well as how many conversion kits were made:
Proline, A&L, JG, etc.

Nice score. I'm still hunting for one of those Pro-Line kits.
Andy's also made a truck conversion kit. The axles without the holes are for the earlier 6216 steering blocks.

This thread has some info and pictures of some of the early truck conversions including my Andy's.

There is one on the bay w/ a BIN, but I don't think it has the body.
As for the steering blocks. I'll have to dive into my parts bin and see if I have any. Id like to find a single axle if I can. I DID play with my other 10t and was able to get some wheels to work using different blocks and axles. We'll see. Debating on making this a runner or not.
Did the Andy's kit come in different styles? A friend seems to think they offered one that wrapped around the front, Similar to the JG style rather than straight off the nose tubes.
I was given a NIP Andys front truck mount, but i think it too mounts to the tubes. I don't recall seeing a wrap-a-round bumper mount.
A Pic of the car, and truck body
Re: Proline RC10 truck Conversion ?,
I think the Andy's oval kit uses the same rear mount but a different nose plate that does not mount to the tubes.

Re: Proline RC10 truck Conversion ?,
The only Andy's monster truck "kit" I know of is the one in Synergy's link, although it did come in a couple of variations depending on whether it came with a clear or painted Jeep or Chevy body.
Andy's also make a molded monster truck chassis and a chassis-mounted truck front body mount, but I don’t think either of those items ever came in a kit. That body mount is similar to the one that mounts to the tubes, but it bolts directly to the nose plate using the body mount hole and two of the front suspension mount holes (using longer screws).

I have a what I thought was a Andy's kit, but could of been pieced together. It's all black and consists of front and rear A-arms, front and rear body mounts, and some offset wheels ( not sure if these are Andy's) It all came on a gold pan from the bay a couple years ago.

Re: Proline RC10 truck Conversion ?,
Another question,
IF I decide to use one of my buggies for this conversion, How do I change the gearing for the truck tires? Anyone run one? I'll be using a ESC and Brushed motor combo, NOT BL! Having a hard time finding gear charts for early Buggies and trucks.

I have a proline conversion kit for the Ultima. It came with a Ford truck body. I dyed the parts black and I'm missing an axle too. LOL!

Re: Proline RC10 truck Conversion ?,
Are those axles common?
How hard would it be to drill one out? or machine one? will simply changing the spindle to a more current model help as well?

**Update**
Got an email from previous owner, It seems he found the missing axle and the hub to go with it. Going to pick it up soon. Once the bench is done, Its on to my 2nd truck conversion!

Re: Proline RC10 truck Conversion ?,
I had a JG conversion back in '88...used Tamiya tires/wheels. My latest RC10 purchase appears to have the JG mounts as well.....I won't be using them.

feel free to send them my way.
My latest acquisition has the wheel adapters, but sadly no mounts. I am interested!
