Traxxas makes a steel output yoke, the outdrive from the transmission itself. as far as the sliders, they are very strong, the only thing I've ever broke was the trans drive yokes as they are a stiffer, slightly more brittle plastic and that was running a 10 turn Reedy mod motor. MIP made cvd's for the trx3 but the suspension arms on the radicator are a little shorter so they won't work. If you have a rad2 they might work, that model came with trx1 rear suspension arms.
