I'm chomping at the bit to get this car in my garage! I bought it on ebay last weekend and the anticipation is killing me! I don't have anything else like it but from the pictures I think I will be a big fan of Schumachers. The last brush I had with a Schuey was this summer at the Fantasy World RC swap meet. I was looking at a rather abused Topcat wondering what the heck it was and wondering how much to offer. I had to get my wife go to the cash machine so I put it down without making an offer and one of our other members who I did not know swooped in and offered like 20 bucks for that car and a bastardized gold pan with Traxxas parts on it. Going to a swap meet without cash in your pocket is a little like going to a showdown with no bullets in your gun. I heard the vendor comment that he didn't know anyone was interested in the old stuff but no-one even looked at anything else he brought. Ahhh well, I'll console myself with this Cougar 95 Team car when it gets here. Sorry if you've seen the picture already I'm just so stoked!

Im not sure Chad ever got around to running this car. Its funny because i sold it to him once, then bought it back, then sold it to him a second time- LOL. Before Chad got it the second time i gave it the full rebuild and Im sure the trans got a good going over to make it super sweet. The 95 bodyshell is quite rare now ( i had 3) and the orange and gun metal was one of my first paint jobs when i was getting back into r/c this time round.
The car should do you well. I ended up mounting the Traxxas shocks as i used the genuine Pro shocks on another old Schuey at the time. if you brake something dont worry, i have plenty of spares for this particular model.

Yes, Chad's auction said he'd never run the car and mentioned that it was 90% new stuff on it. It looks very sweet! What's up with the yellow and green shell? It looks...bullet riddled... So are you saying the shocks on it are Traxxas units? I might want to find some originals just to have them later on.

Well then.....if we are going to be selfish I will have to keep that in mind
Back in the day there were lots of shumys + yokes sold and rippin up the tracks around here (unlike the rest of the country) and I know theres stashes of them SOMEWHERE....I just have to do a little legwork and dig them up. Then I'll come back and stick em in your face(s) :o
Muhahahaaaaa...

It's not that I'm selfish, notme..... just lazy! That, and the fact that I don't sell cars that I haven't thoroughly checked beforehand. Of all the Cougars and Cougar2s that I have, I think I only have maybe one that I would trust as a runner. The rest all have question marks, problems, missing parts.

So don't take it personally (like the mullet-wielding vintage racer!), I will eventually get around to rebuilding some of them, but for the moment they sit in the low priority bin.....

Its all good Alex! Any progress you make on them just keep us informed. I have a possible line on a couple cougar 2000's...just waiting for a phone call. This car came out after I got out of cars in the 90's so Im not familiar with them. Will let ya know how it goes.
