was it worth it? Just curious I am bouncing between that, tamiya tundra or Traxxis summit. And also completely converting to lipos and buying dual sidwinders for my clod. So many toys and not so much cash flow. But seriously I think I want to pick one of these up!
me and my boys are running this one for years. even the wife is 8)
I like it's body, ball diff, and slipper clutch. it's slow but not a prblem.

yeah, we always go to the track together. and they keep destroying everything
The wheels that come in the buggy champ kit are what size? 1.75? Is there anything available in a more agressive tire? I could run the smaller frog wheels and tires but don't like the look as much.

I bought my Buggy Champ as a roller and it only came with the Frog wheels and tires. Which should work better on sand since the rear tread pattern is more of a paddle. If anyone has a new set of Buggy Champ wheel and tire they would like to trade...
A little something I have been working on and driving the last few weeks!

I have a feeling the Sand Scorcher will be available by Christmas. Its the 30th Anniversary for the Rough Rider and Sand Scorcher and what better way to celebrate it by releasing the VW for Christmas
I cant seem to find any Buggy Champ 2009 front tires? They seem to have dried up on ebay, tower, Tamiya USA. Cant even find a listing on Tamiya USA. Are they all gone with the discontinuation?

Hey I found this in a search and have some questions as I'm in the process of modding my Sand Scorcher using the DF-03 slipper as well.
Did you have to swap the top gear out? I didn't even know it would come out.
I was wondering if you guys used different paint for these hard bodies vs. lexan. Is there any different prep. I was thinking it may be more like auto body. Thanks guys!

briefly, use tamiya TS paints and yes you should prime. here is a paint tutorial I made for scale 4X4 that outlines the process on a High lift body but the same principals apply to the buggy champ body
Great tutorial.
