FX-10 question
1. Has anybody here tried the CRP front double wishbone suspension on an FX-10? If so, what shocks did you use?
2. Does the FX10 come with oil filled rear dampers, or are they friction?
3. If they are friction, what length Tamiya Black CVA's do I need to swap them out with.
In case you are wondering, I an planning an FX10 with a black CRP front suspension and black Tamiya CVA's all around. Just trying to get some shock length ideas...

Re: FX-10 question
CRP made the whole kit, dampers and all. They are the same ones used in their frog and grashopper front shock kit. The back dampers are friction and I have no idea of their length although I recall them being short and not long like on the falcon.
Re: FX-10 question
I think this is the suspension setup you mean. I have better pictures at home. By the way - It's for sale.
Edit: Added pictures of the both front ends, stock and CRP. They were dirty when the shot was taken but it's brand new.

They still make the kit, but are out of stock on the dampers.shodog wrote:CRP made the whole kit, dampers and all. They are the same ones used in their frog and grashopper front shock kit. Re: FX-10 question
Clinehobbies had a boat load of the dampers a while back. you might contact him to see if he has any but the short cva's shown in the pics above would work much better

Re: FX-10 question
Tamiya makes super mini, mini, short, and long in the CVA's.
I'm guessing the ones on redscampi's car are the mini's. I'm also guessing the "short" ones will work for the rear. Funny, their terminology for "short" is usually an application where you would use a longer shock, like a buggy rear end. I guess they use different rulers in Japan.

Re: FX-10 question
Bolink offered similar shocks, actually I think they were from the same supplier that CRP used. Kyosho Ultima first gen shocks should work too. If Bill still has some of what he offered, that would be your best bet.

Re: FX-10 question
I remember the add in RCCA for the FX10 and also a write up or two back in the day. It looked like a pretty cool car back then but I've always wondered of this chassis is direct copy of the Tamiya Striker.
Is it hard to find new FX10 bodyshells?

Re: FX-10 question
Futaba used their strong relationship with Tamiya to "release" this car. It is indeed a clone of the Tamiya.
