This is my Clod and it makes the High Lift look tiny , I couldn't afford one of these when they first came out so I promised myself when the right one came along I would grab it. This as with so many other of my cars was an ebay win and at a reasonable prices too. It's Chevy badged, box art finished and in immaculate condition, I took it out of the package and it looked like this, straight to the shelf

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
That's a great looking box art clod. I'm thinking you like the box art schemes because your lift was box art also. Getting one with the chevy grill and tail gate is a huge bonus.
I remember when these came out and I thought that they were so expensive that I would never be able to afford one. Eventually I bought a new built one from an rc-swap meet. if you factor in the free boomerang which I eventually sold for $80, I essentially got the truck for $40. I started to paint the body and then kind of left it at that. I guess I should finish it off

Yes they re-re'd it as the super clodbuster. Basically the same kit with some minor color and body tweaks. I would have to say that the clod has been one of Tamiya's all star trucks
It's Tamiya's all time, all star, product. 20 years of production this fall. Not many products last that long, in any field. The Clod rules still to this day. Very, very nice original box art example there.
Thanks guys I am quite proud of this one, it was a great find, I've also managed to collect a mint box with all the inserts and some mint instructions which makes for a sweet display.
I am quite keen on box art Shodog I think it's because I used to work in a model shop as a boy and drooled over them all the time, but my lift isn't painted yet, you've seen my box art Dyna Storm, Super Astute and Astute though maybe thats what you are thinking about, I have a few others as well

My bad, I was confusing your Hi-lift with Richie Rich's truck. There is no doubt that the clod has withstood the test of time although I think it's time has been coming to an end. For the longest time there was nothing to really comete with it. The aftermarket ran with it and tamiya enjoyed brisk sales. Now with the Jugg's, TXT and now the hilift and TLT, modifiers have a plethora of axle choices to create their monsters.
Like I typed before, you did a great job on your paint. You should easily be able to get good results on your Hilift if you do decide to paint it.
As for my Clod, anyone who has check my showroom will know that I rarely do anything in box art. I had to be different and went with lime green and black on mine and of course, it had to have a set of tecnacraft wheels http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=7254&id=34

That's the problem, I didn't paint it, it came out of the transit packaging like this

Correction, the truck I was thinking about was a t-maxx clone made by smartech, called the magic wheel. The other one I was thinking of was a 1/6 scale monster truck but I still don't remember the make/model.
So, i obtained an 1/10 scale RC10L Pan Car. For 51 bucks off of eBay. Its pretty clean for its age(19 years). It came with an Airtronics Avenger AV2R Radio, and a Futaba FP-R112JE reciever. It also came...
