CALANDRA GEN 10-X

Post by treehugger »

so i finally came into 2010 and got myself a touring /pan car i can get spares for.
i will run it narrow but will probably get the 235 conversion
and a bonus it came with a thunderpower 5000 lipo 1s
what ever that is  i know its not a car for beginners but hey 8) i have a 10.5 LRP BL and a traxxas VXL 3m the esp came out a 1/18 scale car and wieghs 8 grams and can run unlimited turns with a lipo in it do you think i should put a bit more weight in it :?: or will that be fine it was used once and im waiting for a reply on the the gearing that's on it so any pointers as to gearing would be great im well stoked with the car i dont want to break it but knowing i can get spares will change my driving stile from nervous to adventurous

It will still be plenty fast, even with a slow motor. There's not much weight to push around, yeah a 10 turn would be scary with that car.

so a quwick check of all the screws and we are back in business the rpm telemetry read about 68 mph so i will be trying to get a smaller pinon i think 40 45 top end will be fine to start had to change out the steering buckles so now no slack at all in the front end sweet

its all down to the setup i bought it used from a hobby shop owner so it was fast out of the box as its my first pan car im still fidling with it but good tires and the right body  . to me its like its on rails but im still working for my novice badge  so im sure you will get the answers you need from this forum .
i have a old 540 silver can in it with an old tekin esc and it,s still plenty fast for me .

yea im pretty new to the pan car scene myself, ive had alot of different ones but never had the time or place to run them indoor on carpet tracks. i would think for as much as that thing costs just for a roller it should handle like a dream.

Just FYI, if you wat to convert to 235mm, I would not recomend the CRC conversion, there is a conversion from europe, that replaces the lower pod plates, and you dont have to run the hub extensions (Which SUCK!!!!!!!!! - they add quite an unbalance to the rear, and strain the axle and bearings). The only other thing you woulr need is a regular 235mm (RC10L, EV10 etc axle) Let me know if you are interested, and I can send you info via E-mail if you like.
