Alum. Screws for Cheap (Limited Time)

Post by hardenedways »

I'be been looking for a place where I could get aluminum screws and I came across this place: http://www.fastener-express.com/

They have a great selection of many different colors in bulk. They also have several pre-packaged kits for different RC vehicles.

They have two kits for the RC10. Both are blue and include the same fasteners but one is $3.41 cheaper than the other. ($8.40 vs $11.81)
I emailed them about this and they said the kits are the same. They will be removing one of the sets in a few days. My bet is they remove the cheaper set.

Check it out:

The whole blue RC craze is annoying. I like blue annodizing as much as the next guy, but why does everything have to come in blue? Blue tie rods, blue motor plates, blue bulkheads, blue shocks, blue everything. Sorry, didn't mean to vent or hijack, but this blue thing has been bugging me for a few years.

You're really missing the lime green and hot pink of the early 90's aren't you?

I don't think the blue is that bad. It just looks a little out of place on an RC10. The JRX-? had a white, blue and black color scheme. Very sharp. I always liked the look of those. The blue screws would look great on that. (I think it was the sport truck)

If you find other color options let me know. So far I've found the blue screws and a purple set from Trinity. Black aluminum would be nice. Grey would look killer on a World's car. (it would match the shocks)

BTW: Anyone know what the difference is between plain aluminum screws and silver anodized? I think I figured it out. Just checking

anodizing makes the aluminum surface much stronger, plus you can get some color.
hard anodizing like on the traxxas bigbores and the better rc10 shocks can typically only be dyed black or dark green due to the denser pore size.
