Wide front Buggy Arms - Stock

Post by TheSpeedway »

When on the original RC10s did they go to the wider front Arms?

Thanks, Mark

Hi, Thank you for these quick answers. I read the timeline of all the models out there earlier and was still a little unclear. Great info and I will be running back through it again.

Let me ask the question this way to help.

What was the last model year that they used the short Arms on the RC10 cars as seen on the original 1984 model?

Thank you, Mark

I would say 1988 was the last year for short arms, maybe early 1989. At least on a gold pan!

If the Cadillac car went till 1990 did it have the short arms only or did it have long arms at the very end of the production run?

My bad, I'm looking at the 25 years of rc10, In the buggy forum, and it looks like a caddy's life run was 1986-90, short arms continued on to the TQ-10 (1990), then last run of the TQ-10, the short arms were upgraded to the "wide track" arms . So, no caddy 10's had wide track arms.

Thank you for the help. Great.. Tells me what I am looking at now.

I bought an RC10 when they were first made available. We could not find any place that had them and they were very hard to get. Our Denver Colo track couldn’t even buy any. A store that sold RC planes and really had not embraced RC cars landed a handful and was sold out in a few days when we found out. I got out of racing RC after running the car a few times and sold it. A good friend of mine still has the sister car to mine from that hobby shop and will get the original RC10 box that I stored my MIP/Tamiya car in. I dug it out 2 weeks ago as I am going to restore it and while chasing the internet for parts I found an old RC10 that I picked up. I joined here to look up the history and it’s been a great resource. I remember not being able to buy tires for the RC10 they were so new.

It amazes me how many of these were sold and how easy they are to find. I am surprised that there are no reproduction tires and wheels in the original size as there are plenty of cars out there.

Mark
