Ok so this car is not entirely stock or standard but oh how this thing drives! I am just blow away at how smooth and quick this car is out on the track. Yes my driving is not great but even in poor hands these cars drive really well.
I met up with Dan from the UK who is out here on vacation with his family. We've caught up a couple of times to run our cars at a couple of tracks around Sydney and on this occasion I brought my ZX. Equipped with a simple EZRUN 13T brushless system, lipo's and a 2.4 radio this car was a lot of fun. Due to my rusty driving the car came off a little poorly at times from some of the bigger jumps but that was my fault. I ended up busting a front C-hub. I am running the longer uni's all round and am wondering if alloy hub with the wider stance are available?

Now that would be a great event!
I'm meeting up with Dan again at St Ives in the morning. This time I have my GoPro Hero2 camera with a GoPole so I can shoot some 'in action' HD footage around the track. I can't promise miracles but I'll give it a go

Hi mate was great meeting you in Perth and thanks so much for the wire....I owe you one!
Jasons ZX really did go well, I reckon it could almost compete with a modern buggy!
Got the ZX out to the St Ives race track on Sunday and had a blast with this car. Although I had a few bugs to sort out in the end the car was dialled.
As it happened the EZRUN esc was set up with minimal punch control, the rear diff was slipping, the front shocks needed a heavier oil and heavier duty coils went on all round. Man what a difference!
The car had issues right up until the finals where I was competing against a modern day stock class. The ZX ended up finishing 2nd in that final and I was happy.

For some time I have really liked the look of the Lazer ZX. Whilst I like the look of the old skool Lazers the ZX really ticks all the 'vintage' boxes for me. So with this I wanted to build up a car for the race track.
I purchased this car from a...

Well now you may want to get a tub chassis. In roughly a month it should be available to buy and all you need do is specify what layhout / design you want cut out. I am not sure exactly yet on the costs but will be the first to know but believe from...
Some pics of my project, not finish, for now I can't find the right Graphite Sheet , to made a new one chassis
like the Mike car's. :(
The A&L motor plate is missing too, not available from A&L vintage, and the Novak NER FM...
It's been a good while since this car has seen any action but I feel this is long overdue. This car is an ongoing build in progress and after it's last (and first) run I worked out a few areas that needed more attention.
This car was pulled down...

Ok so a few things from the last few pages of posts:
- First, sorry I've been MIA a bit lately. As many of you know I left my position at RC Car Action and I've been very busy working on some new exciting RC projects that hopefully I'll be able to...
Found this video on youtube by accident today, has some guy running his vintage RC10 buggy and body paint around a carpet off-road race track.
Nice job!
By the way, how do I embed youtube videos here?
:D

Carpet racing 's been around for a long time for off-road. It's a great aid to simplify track maintenance especially when the track is not liased to a shop and depends on volunteers. Check out his vid of a race I participated at in 2009. No way you...
Hi all, after talking to some local racers I was told about a track from the early eighties, thought Id organise some freinds and go check it out and to my suprise its vintage heaven,no big jumps to break things and beuatifull suroundings,we took the...
Back in the day I used to watch these cars go round my club track with envy. I ended up buying a used CAT XL from a fellow racer back then and this car served me well. It made driving in stock a breeze.
All these years later I wanted to build up...

I raced this car just a couple of days ago at the 2013 vintage Castle Hill 2 day meeting and it was simply insane! I swapped the esc out for a Tekin FX PRO, Spektrum receiver, 540 silver can motor and 5100mah lipo saddle packs.
The car was actually...
