=rpm rc10 conversion and mip legends conversion=

Post by badhoopty »

got bored today, snapped some pics of a couple projects that are pretty much done.

first is a rpm ultra-molded chassis conversion for the rc10.
full-on rpm besides the trans, i keep forgetting to order a rpm trans for it as well as a b2 body that will properly fit...
cool bits:
-rpm rc10t steering enhancement kit
-lunsford turnbuckles w/rpm ball ends
-jg rear shock tower
-hg vlt lexan shock bodies with mip gold shafts

second is a rc10 with the mip legends 4x4 conversion
got it off ebay as a roller but pretty much re-did it all with better/new stuff.
cool bits:
-mip legends 4x4 kit
-jg rear tower and front bumper
-trinity wheels
-hot bodies stealth fighter body
-quarter flash ball-raced suspension arms

hey hoopty, just a heads up on a body for your rpm car. in the instruction sheet for mine, it says, "any body designed for the losi "se" will fit nicely."

it also says they made a rear shock tower and body mount to use a losi body.

its a yz10 belt tensioner. i still need to grind the area of the nose brace tube flat so it fits a little better, but it ended up being a pretty damn good solution to the pesky missing mip tensioner.

rpm made a rear tower and mount to fit a losi body? i did NOT need to know that.... i thought it was almost done...

i havent ever seen anything like that on the 'bay, and i'm a rpm whore. does it list the rpm part #?

thanks for crushing my groove jason.

tis the season.

the part # is 8023. it says it has the proper holes and mounting tab for using a losi se body. so, i'm guessing that it has the molded in eyelet for the body pin, like a stock losi tower.

they also had their own shock springs for the conversion.. p/n 8027, and 8029.

did i make it even worse now?

i got the springs, although i just have a couple sets for the front. i used gold springs on there to match the shafts.
dunno if they made a rear set or if those numbers are for different spring rates.

i may have one of those rpm rear towers on one of my other rpm rigs. its rpm buggy #1 in my readers rides collect post. it uses a rc10t rear body mount. but even if it is rpm its dyed black...

hows yours coming along? i figure maybe me posting mine would inpsire ya.

well mine hasn't gotten any farther than the way it looked in my build-up thread. i didn't even get to modify the rpm trans case for it yet. all in do time. the steering enhancement kit is probably gonna hold it up the most. i've been looking for one on ebay every day, but no luck so far. shodog was selling one a while back, but i didn't have the chassis at that time, so i didn't snag it. :( my biggest problem is too many projects started, and i can never seem to just focus on one.

they'll all be done.................................one day.

Yummy rides Hoopty. Of course the MIP 4WD looks rather yummy. Would you happen to have the part numbers to the wheels/tires? I've almost given up finding suitable aluminum wheels for my last MIP conversion.

i have no idea what the part numbers are on the wheels, they came with the roller the kit was on.

i can say they are trinity wheels, 2.2 (or 2.15), with hexes on the back.

front tires are unmarked, rear tires are proline flat stubbies.

Thanks Hoopty... I'll pass by one of the LHS here and check out their Trinity wheels.
