YOKOMO RANCH PIT SHOP LATE EDITION 1986-87
YOKOMO RANCH PIT SHOP LATE EDITION 1986-87
New to the Museum a wonderful RPS Yokomo. This kit has an interesting box I have not seen before. Also the rarely seen blue shocks. This Car has many aftermarket upgrades. Upgrades are as follows: Front Aluminum lower arms (Black), Front End C-Hubs Aluminum (Natural), Hardened Drives and Dogbones throughout, Rear Hot Trick Aluminum Rear Support ( Black), Modified Chain Tension System.
Note: Question to Collectors. If you have a blue shock version, and are absolutely sure which box it came with please let us know. We are trying to solidify a timeline of the different versions. Would love to hear from those who might have a kit that came with Kyosho Red , Delta Gold, or Blue shocks and are certain they came with the kit and a certain box. Also interested in Date shown on the parts list / order form.
Thanks
Romulus

Blue shocks are earlier than the golds. This blue shock was sold as optional when the first version of 834B, and sold in Japan and some Asian country only so that's why it's rare in US. I know prototype of RPS YOKOMO SE was using this blue shocks but not sure it was sold in the market or not. I think no, Yokomo just sent it to RPS as sample to make new gold shocks.

Very cool! Do you happen to have any RPS C-4s in you collection?

These cars prompted me to post a couple pictures to the vintage ad scans section. I like how the boxes and the ads shared the same hand drawn artwork:
