My Custom Traxxas NitroHawk Oval Racer BITD..
Old dye job looking bad, re-dyed with Royal Blue I had saved. Swap motor with the Stinger..
Swap pipe, Header and Cylinder Head from the other Duratrax Truck..
Using Kyosho Stinger engine mounts to lean motor forward and to the inside.
Never liked the reversed clutch bell setup. Stinger Spur Gear and 18 tooth CB.
Added RC10GT rear bumper to protect battery box..
Replaced most screws with SS hex, Using beefier rear Truck A-arms..
There that looks a lot better...Old Timer Gas Racer look..

looks great. Can't say I'm sold on the pipe on the outside of the body look but it works. I'm guessing you didn't like brakes either .

Thanks Todd, I remember the day I fired up the Duratrax conversion kit with that short crappy pipe it was loud and Raspy, hard on the ears. I threw it out fitted a tuned pipe, kind of how it started, as far as the brakes on the hawk, not too crazy about it but it works. Oop's looks like I used a Duratrax brake lever with the cork material..

I do like the AE GT rear bumper on that thing. Great idea actually since the traxxas rear bumper gets hammered pretty hard and doesn't 'bounce back' like a nice GT one does
The LHS owner also never liked the brake assy on these things. Took them off and dropped OS motors in as often as he could. He used MY rear bumper to slow down

Re: My Custom Traxxas NitroHawk Oval Racer BITD..
Thanks Glad I could help, I liked going through my collection and seeing what I can do better, instead of keep buying more models. I started buying trashed rc10 chassis and chopping the rear off to make rc10 bumpers and ESC shelf so I had a lot of GT bumper left over.
So I started putting them on other models that don't have any rear bumpers.
I chopped these down alittle.
They tend to stick out quite a bit in stock form.
