Tamiya Bruiser ends again?

Post by XLR8 »

I happened to be browsing Tamiya's US site and found this:

Horizon has it listed as "discontinued" while other major online sources are out of stock on this model.

The Mountain Rider appears to be sold out everywhere.

I'm glad i bought 2 of these plus spare parts for a complete rebuild if needed.
I got 1 from RCMart back when they were selling for less than 500.00 and the 2nd one from a seller in LA that didn't realize he had to build it.

Amazing how many have probably sold though.

I have no intention of selling them for profit, but rather to enjoy the builds.

I'll also bet dime on the HG-407 having killed the Bruiser market.

I waffled on buying one of these. It’s hard to justify one when I have a vintage new build to finish and another one to restore. In the end I just couldn’t pass up one at this price. From what I’ve seen, the rere is so much more improved over the original.

I've decided to pass on this one but I'm very happy for those who have seized the moment and taken advantage of the Bruiser's price drop.
I wish I could have anticipated that Tamiya was going to drop the price to a level that is more reasonable.
As it stands, I already have 3 HG-P407's (an RTR runner, a kit shelfer and a NIB kit) so I feel that I have this RC model covered. I regret that they are not genuine Tamiya trucks.
