Ranch Pit Shop Yokomo SE

Post by Dangeruss »

The RPS Yokomo S.E. was the result of a collaboration between Ranch Pit Shop and Yokomo to provide racers with a competition ready vehicle and was released in March of 1986 after Gil Losi Jr's win at the first IFMAR world championships held at the Ranch Pit Shop in Del Mar, California. The RPS Yokomo S.E. was based on the YZ-834B Dogfighter and RPS (who would later become Team Losi) distributed the model which included a whole assortment of racing parts in addition to the standard Yokomo kit. Those parts started with a lightweight fiberglass pan chassis to which a slipper clutch equipped ball differential transmission and chain driven four-wheel drive system with one-way fronts were attached. Dog bone axles sent power to the nylon wheels shot in Pro-line manufactured Team Losi knobby rubber tires. The four-wheel independent suspension was handled by trailing arms in the rear with a pair of upgraded gold anodized aluminum oil filled coil over shocks while the front received a double a-arm suspension with a single gold anodized oil filled coil over mono shock for dampening. Electronics were included with the kit and were comprised of a Yokomo 05R stock motor and heavy-duty wiper arm resistor speed controller with BEC to eliminate the need for a secondary battery to power the receiver. A lightweight S.E. specific body was also included in the kit which would come in two variations, the S.E. 10 with bushings and S.E. 12 with NMB bearings:
