BL motor temps ?

Post by klavy69 »

OK. Gonna actually run a 'project' that has a vxl in it but had to put a really big spur gear on to make it work so I'm expecting temps...what kind of temps should I expect for this brushless motor? Or any electric motor for that matter?
Thanx
Todd

P.S. Reallized I had this in the wrong part of the forum after I put it in here so if the mods want to move it to the tech spot I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanx
Todd

put the smallest spur and biggest pinion you can find on it and temps should never ever be higher than 140

Its a whole new gearing world with brushless.Markt has it bang on with the smallest spur.I kept adding teeth on my pinion untill my motor was close to 150 straight off the track.

Thanx for the replies. Had to put the near biggest pinion with the biggest spur to get the 2 to even meet so I kinda got into a spot where I hadn't been before. I'll have to run it to find out where the temps are gonna be to see if I have to further modify it...further.
