I have those currently, but it seems I need longer ones. What did you end up doing?

I sent my MIP CVDs back to MIP because one broke. Then I moved the turnbuckle up higher on the bulkhead to limit the travel of the rear arms and switched back to stock dog bones. Everything works perfect now

I had to drill a hole just above the inner most one on the bulkhead. Good luck!

I read the pages you posted, and someone mentioned that in order for me to use proline's velocity wheels I would need b44 cvd joints. Were they referring to the front cvd joints or the rear ones? What EXACTLY would I need to run proline dirt hawg tires on proline velocity wheels? What will I need to use for the front and the rear? Sorry for being so specific, I just have a very limited budget and I dont want to waste money on something that doesnt fit. Also, I have broken two pairs of cvd joints. (one pair from an associated b2 an d the an upgrade one from MIP). What can I do to prevent these new cvd joints from breaking? Any help is appreciated because I'm extremely lost here and I can't afford a new car.

Does anyone know if those wheels will fit Prolines Dirt Hawg Tires? Especially the front tires?

Great site!!

I too am wondering about tires for my old gold pan to get it running again. I was wondering if anyone has tried the 1/16 e revo and a set of hexs. I don't know the offset or anythiing but they 2.2 and designed to run buggy tires. Also wondering if anyone know where I can order the froger/hornet (1.6) rear tires to use for now?? And like many here the wheel tire I most need is something for the fronts! I used the front wheel/tire rom ny OLD Cox Tomahawk but that is whearing and I only have one and my orig. have worn out. I still have some old foams but I don't want to use them up outside with my son just yet. I'm still trying to figure the easy/cheapest way to get it up and running again so the wife doesn't complain toooo much.

Thanks for all the help and info here. I'm still trying to catch up on my reading!!

For older tires, read this thread that I wrote, it should help you out. I also emailed Tamiya directly and they can order you certain tires directly for you but some can take awhile (the Hotshot tires would have taken 2 months!!)

Just read through this whole thread and thought I had a good understanding of the parts I need to run new rims/tires until I got to the part about using the stealth vs the 6 gear. So basically the setups given on here are for the stealth? I have the 6 gear on mine - what would I need to do different to get 2.2 rims on the car?

The tranny makes no difference in the tire size. You can run modern rubber with either setup.

I guess my quesion was more about the arms/cvds, etc. Does the tranny make a difference for those parts?

short answer - no. the diff outdrives use exactly the same parts (dogbone out) between the stealth and 6 gear.

I changed my 6-gear to the Rulux wheels and followed the tips in here. The only issue I ran into was the dog bones fall out of the rear. I fixed that by using some fuel line tubing from my hobby shop. Put it in the outdrives and axels and you are good to go. Robin's Hobbies in Glendale (give them credit for anyone in the LA area) helped me with that one. I explained the problem, the guy cut off a couple inches of tubing and handed it to me. Problem solved. Other shops told me it can't be done, wanted to sell me o-rings, new dog bones, even new cars. They set me up with what I needed, no charge. Guess where I bought my RC helicopter. Yup, good service sure does pay off!

If you have any questions, let me know. I also put a brushless motor (EXrun 13T) and Lipo battery (4000mah). Wow. Do it. Soooo fast and smooth. Fare better than the old electronics. Worth every penny.

Can you post a pic of how the fuel tubing was used?
