got it mocked up and will have it done tomorrow afternoon for picture taking, going to make it as bullet proof as possible.
decided to sacrifice one of the old gt bodies i got when i first bought the trucks, its sitting in a pool of dot3 brake fluid atm and should be stripped off by friday afternoon
oh and last but not least im going to pull the trigger on stripping the anodizing off just a matter of remembering to get oven cleaner

lol i like the big wings. reminds me of my youth and all the toy grade rc's of the 80's, only stylized onto a functional piece of AE technology

woke up early and hit the ground runnin. decided to shim the tranny today to kick start my brain and rolled right into stripping the paint off the body, its been soaking in dot 3 brake fluid for about 2 days (i know your supposed to use dot4 but thats what i had) its coming out good so far, you can see the old paint job, paint is on there pretty darn good.

still dont have anything concrete in the way of a paint scheme but i know what colors im going to use

Re: got an old friend back, RC10gt
got the piston and sleeve back yesterday (saturday) and its a light-ish pinch which will be perfect for a quick break-in im waiting on the tiger drive now but i should have the engine basically done and maybe even installed (minus the tiger drive) some time today
on a side note, i already had the tiger drive with the plastic cover in the color i wanted but its got a 6mm one-way on the bevel gear. so i sent an email to Sullivan Products (who make the tiger drive) to see if i could use the 8mm one-way/bevel gear offered in their other kit and sure enough they are compatible so i chatted back and forth with a rep and we got things squared away very quickly, those guys have great customer support! very friendly and extremely helpful
Edit: vroom vroom

yeah, broke 90mph about 20 minutes ago in the rain
waiting on that roto starter gear/1-way, maybe i can find a 8mm one way bearing and try to rig it up to a drill to get going for the idle break in but thats all i think i can get away with :\

got the engine mounted and the radio roughly dialed last night and while i was out picking up some random stuff at the super market today i grabbed a can of easy-off. that stuff works fast! got the spare chassis's nose plate and chassis tub stripped and polished, decided to paint a little bit of the nose plate and chassis sides to match the engine, need purple to finish it off, i guess ill be hitting up ace tomorrow

Re: got an old friend back, RC10gt
got the chassis done and mounted, the lighting isnt doing the polish job any justice at all especially on the nose plate... but the masking tape didnt help either

didnt put too much effort into the paint, even though its an enamel and it claims to stick to metal the purple just isnt so im not going to sweat the fact that most of it will be gone after the first race
not pictured is the top of the nose plate which the purple came out great on.
mechanically everything is ready for break in, im just waiting on that dang gear! i may order up more purple ball cups tho since i still need some lc4's and the lhs didnt have either the cups or the plugs

the nitro vortex is pretty strong, you might just want to give in and buy a gt
