Re: Lobo IV, is it "Something", or nothing?
The Lobo IV was part of a series of RC cars that Sears stores use to sell on Christmas back in around 1987-90. My brother had a Lobo II and a Turbo Lobo later on and they came with 540 motors that would be a comparable to the stock original Grasshopper when it came out. They where cool back then. I Had a Nikko Turbo 4wd Mascot, but my brother in his Lobo would get me on speed.
I thought I would comment because seen the picture reminded me of that time.

This is a Nikko 'Super Gallet' bearing serial number 14065N. It is also been sold as Lobo IV in US and UK. The scale will be 1/14 with the following specs:
- 2ch full function: Forward, reverse, left and right and stop (The steering and motor power can be controlled separately);
- 2 x 2 speed in forward running. Turbo high speed forward running from transmitter control. High/ Low speed gear selector switch;
- Front and rear suspension;
- Spiked tires;
- Differential gear;
Batteries:
Vehicle- 1 x 7.2V battery pack + 1 x 9volt battery
Transmitter- 1 x 9 volt battery
Hope these help.

Re: Lobo IV, is it "Something", or nothing?
To add to M_vice, these Lobo cars were made my Nikko. The Super Lobo was 1/10 scale and ran pretty well. From what I remember of the rest of the Lobo series, they were pretty much crap, scaled down and under powered except for the Turbo maybe. I don't recall all the cars in the Lobo series. The Super Lobo was $140ish if my memory recalls correctly. That market was owned by the Tammies and other low end cars from high quality manufacturers. So the Lobo series was downgraded to a more affordable car.
There was another car made by Nikko that was identical to the Super Lobo except for a few stickers and the color was red I think instead of yellow. Probably made for another large retailer, other than Sears.

He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.
