It was a helluva lowball, I'd have to admit. I didn't think it would play out well, but as it did, he was interested in making sure the dirt oval history was important to the new owner (and it is). Considering the Andy's Mercedes was the very first body Andy Jacobsen produced, this one holds very high importance for me.

Not sure if the funds are there for more of them, though. I think a Composite Craft or Delta graphite chassis, Losi aluminum 4-slot wheels or a new RPS body would be the only things that could break the bank for me now... ;)

You're not asking for easy things are you? Can't say I have ever seen a CC chassis. I seen one Delta chassis, I have it, but it is for the Delta aluminum rear end, which won't work with the stock rear suspension, it is too short. I am sure that Delta made a OE replacement chassis, but never have seen one.

As I stated, I love that body. I am not much of an oval guy, but it sure is cool.

What fun would easy be? :D I've only seen one slotted CC graphite chassis in the 10+ years I have kept my eye on these cars, but it was haggard and beaten to death. The odds on finding anything remotely similar are slim to none—but you never know. I didn't think I'd find this car, either, so never say never.

Knowing that the Mercedes was a very short production body, and his first, the fact that this was painted by Andy for a team driver, then never used is HUGE for me. The body alone is historic.

DEFINITELY have to dig through my art archives at home now, and find my EPS versions of some of these logos that I have. I'm sure I could something really usable for all of us for decal production. :)

I always wondered if Losi made a different chassis. I only say that as I found a Losi/RPS header carded saddle pack battery strap made of FRP G8. It kinda looks like a Y. I just assume that if they made a strap, that they made a saddle pack chassis too. But it could be for another manufacturer.

Shodog has the optional slotted graphite RPS chassis on his Yokomo if that's what you are referring to?

By the way I'd love a hop-up chassis. Or to make my own.

Yep, that is the one Ed. The strap I have is for that chassis. So, can anyone confirm who made that chassis?

I remember asking him to make me a template of that chassis. Jim? Any chance I can ressurect that request? I would love to make a couple copies.

Hi again, that is an option from RPS back in the day, I will scan my Yokomo info tomorrow and post it in the scans section???

Is that the right place for it? No one replied to my post about needing a non-rc10 vintage scans section. Mods?

I remember seeing these cars run over at the Ranch Pit Stop (RPS) raceway. They were so ugly, I just had to have one. :D Problem was, they cost a mint back in those days and I didn't have a penny to my name. I remember a yellow one in the case that I think was painted by Andy and had a few cut-outs for cooling. Really nice find with the complete car and very rare body!

I would have to take it apart to make a good template. It would probably be easier to just send you the chassis to cut a copy from.
