XX-4 LIPO Conversion Kit
Re: XX-4 LIPO Conversion Kit
Would u say that its a must to upgrade these areas if racing a xx4? I'm thinking of pickin up a completley stock early edition and wan to race it with 7.5 brushless and lipo. Will i be breakin these areas alot?

Re: XX-4 LIPO Conversion Kit
The only thing I would worry about breaking is the front bulkhead. But if you take a piece of metal and drill two hole to connect the front hinge pins that's solves that problem, and that's only if you have the stock bulkhead. Trinity offered an aluminum bulkhead that was a popular upgrade BITD. Other than that keep spare belts (if you use tough racing belts be sure and have belt rollers, they're not needed with the stock losi ones green or blue and can be made from some bearings and a pin) shock towers and if you don't run the brace I told you about be sure and have some bulkheads too. One other thing to watch out for is the fourth hole on the rear shock tower, it's a little weak unless you run shock tower braces (ex. Penguin carbon fiber shock tower braces or the top portion of another tower bolted to the shock tower). Petit rc has some good tips and setups there, and the setup most everyone runs is the Jesse robbers setup to begin with and tweaks it for their own track. Congrats on the purchase these are great cars and still the easiest to drive/quickest out there.Justin33 wrote:Would u say that its a must to upgrade these areas if racing a xx4? Just FYI the mods I listed are not necessary, dyno Dan/Dakota phend run theirs bone stock with the worlds stock setup. These mods just make it bullet proof and stronger for the club racer.Enjoy!

Re: XX-4 LIPO Conversion Kit
I keep looking at it, I think I need to find another XX4 to do it to, since some of the pieces required modification to the chassis. I'm always torn when it comes to modifying something that I only have one of.FasterLouder wrote:So,anyone taken delivery of one of these kits?
I was actually thinking of trying to use some of the parts on one of my Rally Weapons.
I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.
