If someone were to find a NIP original 4 hole shock tower , how much do you think it would be worth ?.

About one million dollars for a nib one... I have yet to see one in the bag. As the Brits would say, "rare as rocking horse poo".

Since it just going to be a shelf queen , I think I'm just going to use some thin clear servo tape to hold down the battery cups

Why not use the screws? I see the ends were hacked out, but that's pretty normal to actually be able to use a fully shrinked battery pack with end caps. Assuming you're going back to a transverse battery placement... As you said, it's a shelfer. Why not do it up with the msc? It's a CE, not a Team Car...

I thought about doing that when I first got the car , Since I was not into RC cars back then, I'm going by what some of the old time racers that I talk to about this CE , and it seems that most say that they were using ESC by the time this car came out.

It came with A Novak T4 ESC, which came out in 1988, which is just a little befor the CE , I believe.

I have no idea, never seen one nib... could be $50-60 or $1.00...

1988... certainly a period hopup, as it was available until 1994, but also can be used without putting the battery north/south.

I guess I'm saying don't drill any holes...

Hmmm, had to rewire the esc huh?

Looks fantastic, but I'd ditch the red rear springs for silver or gold and personally go back to a crossways battery setup. Nice period Airtronics gear, got the XL2P Tx to match? Also a blue labeled 2nd generation Yokomo/AE stock motor would top it right off... Hint: the 2nd gen motors have the brush heatsinks and do not say "off-road stock" on the label (plus have the Cadillac address).

Maybe keep an eye out for the correct tires, PM me if you want 3-rib TQ71 fronts, I don't have the TQ21 rears though... and could use a set or two myself.

Yea I rerouted the Tx. wire out the back , I though it would look a little cleaner.

Yea, I found some Sil/Gld ? fronts at my friends house, along with some other really nice misc white parts he had laying around . What color are the rears supposed to be ?
LHS did not have Silv. or Gold.

Yea, I don't know if I want to go that way, I know that's how it was designed, maybe if I can get some nice new/used original uncut battery cups , I may set it back up that way.
I kind of like it with Electronics this way , like I said I wasn't into it back then, I guess I kinda want it to be old school with some new school flavor, to bridge the gap for me.

I don't know if I really want to make it perfectly period correct, right now.
It came with what looked like a pretty old LRP mod motor, and I decided to install an old Gold P2K, just cause it almost matches the chassis and it's the motor that I started racing with.

Actually the one that's on it right now is all most perfect, I really don't feel the need to replace it .

So the million dollar one is up for grabs.

Like I said earlier the three items I would like to replace are.
1 original turnbuckles & ball cups.
2 original white steering rack.
3 (2) original white battery cups.

So maybe If one of you guys has what I need maybe we can do some trading .

I also have quite a few extra used parts and tires and wheels .

I will take some pictures of every thing that I have, and post them if that's alright to do in this thread .

Or do I need to go the trading forum ? I don't have a Ebay account yet, I think I read some where that you need that to get into the buy/sale forum.

I meant the lack of a blue motor (-) wire... The T-4 had four wires out. Red and black to the battery, blue and black to the motor. All 16 gauge.

Silver rear springs are appropriate, gold were also included in the kit on a CE of that age.

It's yours, do what you want. We're just telling you what is correct for the era.
