The Thorp Delrin top shaft gear also fits properly on the Losi A-3120 Hydra-Drive/Slipper shaft. Which means it will also fit the A-3007 JRX-Pro top shaft and the A&L Power Clutch shaft.
I've just done this exactly after I received the topshaft and delrin gear today. However it binds when I tighten the gearbox fully. Did you need to grind any gearbox inner? I notice my Thorp gear is marginally wider than the stock gear for that topshaft.

No, I didn’t have to grind anything.
A few things to check:
- Make sure the roll pin is centered or not too long to where it is interfering with the gear mesh.
- Make sure the hole for the top shaft in the gear case is 5/16” so that it doesn’t rub the slipper plate.
- Last, be sure to install a shim on the end of the top shaft…#69 in the pic.

Perfect! Thank you!! I realise from your post I don't have the shim there at the end of the shaft. Thank you, I'll try adding that

Thanks again for the help! Weirdly it's still binding. looking at the metal stock gear on that shaft, it doesn't protrude past the pin (the pin sits in a recess for it), whereas the Thorp one does. So I may just try sanding it down on the pin side.
Are they still in business? I cant find their website. They had some pretty cool stuff. I love their gears. I would like to see if they are making any new stuff

You can find the occasional Thorp part for old Traxxas vehicles, but I haven't seen a ball diff in years. Usually the idlear delrin gears and the top shaft delrin gears are what show up on ebay.
It's a shame too as I have one of their ball diffs...
Is anyone familiar with the Thorp Dirt Burners 64 pitch Diff conversion? I've got one and the spacer on the shaft is too long and it won't let me close the trans case. It also protrudes past the idler gear. I've attached some pics against the...

I have two of the Thorp kits. I'm going to check what versions I own now.
I just scored this on the 'Bay...I hope I'm not mistaken, but isn't this comparable to the OT-76 Hard Final Pinion Gear? I confirmed with some searching that it's made out of steel.

Just a quick confirmation--received the gear today, it's an exact match for the stock OT-41 gear. It's made of steel however, and is significantly heavier than the stock aluminum gear. As OT-76 hard final pinion gears are few and far between (and...
I picked up a Thorp #5100 Diff Gear set and was wondering if anyone else had experience with them. When I tried the stock diff balls in the Thorp diff gear they seemed very loose in their holes. Also, which diff lube is best for this...

Personally iwhen i had the 5100(thorp) gear i only used the metal diff gear and did not use the diff halves, well that was with using the vintage brushed motor, but. Havent tried using it with the newer BL motor,as for the original vs the 3020, the...
My cousin is at this big Futaba race in St Louis. Wish I was, it’s not far away(must be nice to be single). He sent me a few pics from his phone. Here are the few that aren’t trophy girls.
i have seen a couple of these losi jrx2 with this chevy cavalier body and just had to do my own. going to do a simple red/white/orange paint job. used a litesink heatsink, A&L steering, A&L front truck shock tower trimmed down a little, jg front...
I bought this for my Astute and I guess/hope it's 48DP would that be correct :?: Dirt Burners.JPG

Not sure about the astute version, but on the ultima/optima version the inner gear and counter gear were distinct for the underdrive/overdrive sets. You couldnt mix/match at will, but one of them worked with stock (as the one above probably does.
