well thanks for the tip, but again we don't have simple green in Europe... I'll dismantle it completely, isolate the plastics and scrub them gently with dishwash soap and let them soak overnight in hot water

I must have missed the note about Simple Green not being available over there. I suppose you can't go wrong with good old soap and water...

I found a pair of CRP (?) rear shocks collars that match the box-art car, if I can't find another pair, I will have them made by a shop together with the still missing large front spring cups... It also looks like the front shock collars are gold anodized on the boxter car... it's a long shot, but I really want to make an exact replica like the one liquorboxracing never finished

Re: - Early Edinger RC10, finally! -
hey, congrats on the little monster
i haven't seen many people put the original motor and resister back in their goldpan...I got the same motor in mine, just put it in yesterday. I still need to get to the hobby shop to get some wires to get the electrical finished. Yours is a hell of a lot cleaner than min too, well I did just take it out for a spin last month. very nicely done

Thanks for the congrats on my little monster mate, he's growing fast and is now already 5 months old. There are no words to describe the feeling of your little boy watching you in the eyes, this must be the best period of my life so far! I can't resist to hijack my own thread with a recent picture

Coming back to the shocks, I mounted the large cups and those alloy collars today and they have a slightly larger diameter than the springs, which makes me think that they were designed for another car. What is more, it looks like the ones on the boxter have 4 set screws where mine only have 2. Anyway, I also have a complete set of Hot Trick ones with the right dimensions (those only have 1 set screw) and I am about to send the large plastic cups and collars for reference to a shop so that they can machine what's missing and make perfect replicas. I also found a "pro" painter for the body. Stay tuned, this is gonna be a time consuming project.

Re: - Early Edinger RC10, finally! -
I just won an auction with some nice early Novak goodies, two Novak 1 and the very first ESC they made, which is also the box-art one, I just hope it is at least still in good aesthetic shape.
I am now on the hunt for a pair of large rear spring cups for the front shocks... Anyone needs a Futaba or Traxxas receiver?

Sorry to hear that. What were you looking for? I was mainly interested in the old Novak ESC, the rest is all bonus. PM me if you were looking for something else.Twiceblown351 wrote:OH man you won them. Should of let me know. I was biding on them to.

it's kinda all over the place right now. eventually "temple's rc10 tech forum" will structured in a way that all of the info will be in one spot. that goes for all of the vintage associated vehicles.Soncho Ponza wrote:is there a reg post u have all been putting down Edinger rig info and piccs or just as they come up these are great looking old rigs?

Re: - Early Edinger RC10, finally! -
that would be cool I want to learn more about the details of the older kits. I got a lot off of the few pages back, I want to see where some of my old girls fit into. Do the earlist cars have the flatter rear spring mounts or do early early cars have the slightly newer ones. I had a couple set of those around--(flatter type) in my well oragized
totes full of stuff. can't find em like to get a pair for project.

if you do a search for "edinger", i'm sure there will be plenty of threads that'll pop up and answer anything you need to know.
but to answer your spring cup question, the ones on the rear of david's car in this thread are the early ones. just on the rear. then they went to the ones that are on the front....... all the way around.
