The wheels look great! You could try to find an FP2RH micro receiver and ditch the case (cover in clear shrink). I hear you on the R2GF/GS, they are a little bulky...

What is it supposed to use for a speed control?

what year did this car come out? would it actually be wrong put a novak 1 in it, or something else from that era?

years ago, i had a parma msc that had a small piece of aluminum with a 90 degree bend. that was attached to the servo with servo tape. then, the aluminum bar went through the resistor and attached to the piece on the servo. it looked like the setup from an rc10, but it was all one unit. did bolink have anything like that?

I used to have an article on the Bandito, but I can't find where I put it. I also have an original box, it might have a date on it...... finding it in the sea of junk might be a task on it's own.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Well, I did find a pic buried on retech:

I know Bolink offered a servo tape and bent metal MSC setup, but don't know if it would really suit the Bandito. Probably like scr8p says a Novak 1 or 4 or maybe a Victor/Delta or Tekin Mospower... That's presuming the car is from 1982 or so...

The servo/msc could certainly be servo taped to the t-bar section of the chassis. Probably not the best handling option.

I can imagine the servo laid on it's side with the msc stuck on top kind of like a Delta. Just without the posts and such.

to me, it looks like there'd be plenty of room to mount a servo/msc along side of the steering servo.

Vey nice car! :D

I'm 99.9% sure the Bandito came out later than you are thinking. The Bolink Renegade, the similar design to the AE 12i was still the latest 1/12 Bolink car in 1984. The Bandito came out in 1985, that's the year I raced it with a Futaba R4H, S32 and a red Tekin Mospower speed controller. The Novak T1 or 4 and NER2S Rx would also be correct.

There was a 4 cell radio tray available with the batteries in a saddle configuration like your picture. Between the cells was solid glass over the T-bar. This was the ESC location. If you only had the 6 cell tray, guys built a little fiberglass bridge to put the speed control on. If you were running 6 cell the ESC and RX went behind the steering servo on either side of the antenna.

Attached is a Bandito I recently got from Steve Rule showing the correct wheels and nylon screw type body posts. You can see the servo tape residue show the electronics locations.

Hope this helps,
Marc
