shodog wrote:Do you plan to run this? IMO you've made it too nice to run. My jeep is one of my favorite runners so if you do run it, you're gonna love it. On mine I've locked the rear diff but kept an open front diff. The chassis would benefit from locking the front diff and as long as you run in the dirt, the scrubbing of the inside wheel on a turn will not make much difference to the turn radius. on the street you'll notice it and it might put stress on the integrated chassis gearbox. Just as good measure you should pick up an extra chassis and top gear cover. I've seen the plastic on the mounting holes get weak allowing the screws to loosen and in turn allowing the gears to skip. I really like the Junfac skid plates, I may pic up some of those. Did you check out some of the RC channel parts before buy the GPM?
Yup this will be my backyard runner .
Rc channel is my first choice, but things get in different direction when I saw a GPM complete package auction for CC01 (except the steering link). The current bid was only 35usd and its only 3hrs left. I put my max bid to 51. After the time lapse I won for 51usd.

What are you doing with the original parts? There's probably enough there for someone to built a new one. If you sell the original parts, let us know.

Lime green hmmm, green is one of my favorite color as such I used combination of neon green and fluorescent red paint for my race car (onroad/offroad) I do not want all of my body shell to have a shade of green

sit tight and wonders will happen :P

Have not updated this thread for quite sometime now. Been busy with my work, and things not work as planned.

The Wheels and Tires.

CC-01 uses 1.9 wheels and tires

I'm not planning to use these in this project but to my TA-02 (another project then)

Comparisson, I did not expect the big difference between the two

Tamiya small one and Rock Beast the big one

How on earth I can use these combo.

Solution
I used my RC4wd 1.5 combo , see the comparisson :)

(Tamiya 1.9 - RC4WD 1.5 - Pit bull 1.9 )

The Pit bull rock beast tires I'm not worried as this tire have good reputatuon in its class (easy to sell)
or follow my wife suggestion. "buy a new car that this tires will fit simple as that"

The Tamiya's ESC
I've cut the plugs for the battery and motor, as I'm used to use dean plugs and solder the wires directly to the motor.

Image

I've planned to waterproof this ESC using Plastidip.

Image

But cant figure out how to dip this esc without covering the two holes for binding it to controller (1 for push button and the other 1 for blinking light).

Image
Can not spray silicon to the electronics itself as the housing dont give enough space for extra thickness.
