Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
Cheers Lee. Pretty chuffed with how it's turned out and the relatively small cost it's took to actually buy the car and get it this far. I think the plan will be to keep an eye out for more used spares so I can run it without worrying too much (not that it'll get run hard).
Until the weather gets warmer it's sitting pretty on the shelf.

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
I'd love to run mine around a proper offroad track but not being a racer or have ever raced I'll just be running mine on short grass unless I can find a track that lets anybody use when it's not used for race meets.

Man, this turned out great! The pink wheels look so good. The shell, wing, everything looks awesome!
You put a brushed mod 13T in it?

Thanks for the compliments. Again I'm really pleased how this has turned out. Wasn't so sure about the shell at first but now it's on the car and has a few decals on it, I really like it.
The 13T mod motor that's in it was fitted to the car when I first got it. It's a period correct one and in good order so I thought I'd keep it in. Might be too fast for it though (or rather too fast for me

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
Mark if your not used to that kind of power, drop down some mate, this car is TOUGH, but a 13T can cause a bit of damage lol. I also urge you to really get on top of your diffs, especially running that kind of power....keep a close eye on diff tightness bud, maybe even run them a turn tighter if needs be?

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
Good call Lee. It's not that I'm not used to the power, got a bit of modern brushless stuff that's very quick, it's that I don't want to wreck either the car or the running gear. So to that end I shall try and find a period motor around the 19 turn mark. Any recommendations?

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
LOL sorry Mark, here iam insulting you........hmm i think you'll be fine then, but if you wanted peace of mind, i think there are some Yokomo 19t on that auction site
And if you did want anything insane, I've got a few Reedy and Kinwald motors around the 10 and 11T bracket hehehe.

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
Ahh I didn't take it as an insult Lee
. To be fair whilst my modern stuff is quick, it's a fair bit bigger than the Dog so I can see it better with my rubbish old man eyesight
. I want to slow it down for peace of mind really. I think even a 27T mod motor might just be quick enough for it. I shall go and have a look.

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
Cool beans matey, i just dont want you going and blowing a diff, but i have an idea on those pulleys in the other thread.
Yes a 27t will give you some fun, a 19 will be better though. Mate ive not raced in many years, and that was back when i had decent eyesight lol, i did have to cave and see the guys at Specsavers though

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
A 19T it shall be then
Was the Pro Stock II motor around when this car was new? I know it sounds a bit anal but I would like to keep at least the ESC and motor period correct if possible.

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
Cheers Lee. The YR4 M2 came out quite a bit after the YZ10 94 if I remember correctly? I shall keep an eye out for another Epic or similar for the time being. Might even have something that'll do the job kicking about in my spares stash but that'll be a mission in itself looking through that lot.

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94
Mark, or Lee would a YZ10 be able to handle a brushless at all? I'd still like to make mine a runner. I have a 7.5 in my XXXCR, but I think it would be too much for this old Yoke. Or would I be able to run like a 21.5 or a 17.5 brushless in this?
If not, I think I have a couple old Mods' I could throw in.
