Really cool looking classic. And it looks like you could eliminate about 6" of battery lead if you wanted to.

  • Thanks for the compliments fellas! :D
  • Hey Romulus, I'll be shortening the battery wires soon.
  • I spent the better part of a day trying to get the Protech shell to sit right. It's okay now. What a pain though.
  • Also put a Jammin Jay diff assembly in the gearbox. It has a very tight and smooth diff action now.
  • I'll start the painting this weekend. I have a new airbrush setup that I want to try out.
  • More soon.
Chris.

Well the painting's done. I reckon it dosen't look too shabby. There's a couple of blemishes in the paintwork but they're minor. It's a runner anyway and the next body I paint will be better. Only a couple of things left to do to it now. Anyway here's the pictures.

Looks stellar. The dyed parts, black wheels, and body are all spot on.

Thanks fellas, glad you like it. :) I'm really chuffed with how it's turned out. It's the most complex paintjob I've ever done. I usually paint bodies with one colour.
Once finished I'll try to muster up some action shots.

I think this is the best one I have seen to date. Make sure you get some good action shots in to the AE photo contest, your car is a ringer for sure!

I think I may do a similar theme on mine, I hope you wont mind?

Mow your grass!!! Um.... I mean.... awesome-looking 10! I do like it when people look beyond the original box-art.... well, box-art for the car you're doing, anyway.

Now, let's see some Frog-painted Ultimas...... lol....

    Again, great-looking car.

Thanks Rod, I'll look into that. Also I have no problems with you doing a similar theme either.

Great looking RC10 mate. Fantastic colour co-ordination...certainly a combination I couldn't conceive. Well done!

The worlds steering is in. Just waiting on a Kimbrough servo saver and four turnbuckles. They should be here this week.
    • While waiting I decided to Dremel the chassis. It turned out really well. :D

The car is finally finished so here's the backyard action shots. The first shot is my favourite so far. It's a bit blurry but I really like it. It's also extremely difficult to drive one handed and take action shots with the other
    GP1.jpg
Round the sweeper onto the straight.

Hard left around the apricot tree.
    GP2.jpg
    Down the main straight.

No problems were encountered running the classic on my backyard track. The gearbox and diff are still smooth and the 17.5 turn brushless is grunty enough for my driving skills. It's also a hell of a lot more fun to drive than my B4.1FT. Thanks for looking.
    Chris.
