SACS system

Post by K Rob »

I remember having this back in the day but can't remember what car it would have been on - probably the RC10 conversion as I never had a Cougar 2000 variant.
But I'm now thinking of getting a Cougar 2000 or Cougar 95.
I have it my head the SACS was not good - gave understeer - anyone confirm what it's like to drive with please?

From what I remember of my cougar 2000 with SACS it had good on power steering, but when you let off power at the apex of the turn it didn't tighten it's line. If you don't drive a smooth line into the corner it will go wider then you want it to.

Hmm, on power steering is good (especially with a rear motor on astro) but less keen on it not wanting to turn so much.
It's not fair - I want the best of both worlds!!!
Thanks for the response

Cool and Original way of steering assembly. Looks quite fragile actually.
