RPM 2.65 tranny conversion

Post by JUSS10 »

well i ordered one at my LHS and got it today. i haven't got it in the truck yet but just thought i would check and see if anyone else was running one of these. i found a few online forums that talked about it saying it was a night and day difference. guess we'll just have to see. will post pics. plan on dying it black before i install it.

It depends on what you're running, If you're running brushless, then the stock tranny would be better suited for brushless motors, as for brushed stock motors, then the 2.65 is the way to go.

actually, i think the 2.65 lower ratio is only an issue with brushless if your using the 17.5 motors. it's almost identical as the b4/t4 stock trans. i doubt guys are running around trying to figure out how to put a 2.25 in their b4/t4.

i could be wrong, though.

That's true, I should've specify, if you're running the 17.5 brushless then you're better off with the stock tranny, but since you've already stated that you're using brushed, then RPM convert away my fellow 10T owner :D

If I decide to run the 17.5 on my T4, then I'm going with a 78 spur and 26-29 pinion.

well i took the truck out for its first run since the rebuild and wow, what a difference. the RPM tranny is night and day. before i had no pickup whats so ever now i can pull donuts on my concrete driveway with road tires on it and a stock motor. I had bought a bigger spur to gear it down but now i need to gear it up. so anyway, if anyone is running a brushed motor on a 10T with the stock 2.25 stealth i would recommend spending the $20 on the RPM conversion. and since it comes white it wont throw off the over look of the truck for all the white part "purists" out there. And it takes color well for those who want to dye it.
