Re: bigwig re-re 2017

I hope this is for real. I wanted the Bigwig back in the 80's but could only afford the Hotshot. How does the GT Tuned compare with the old Technigold?

Re: My Hotshot Re-Re's 1st Run

Nice car. I have my original sitting on a shelf. When I took it for a spin it seemed so slow. I remember it being so much faster back in 86 lol. Rose coloured glasses I guess

Re: Bud's Cat diff conversion kit 6550?

That looks like the old slipper clutch system that buds offered way back. Not a diff if I am not mistaken. It would work on the 4wd cats and the cougars also. That's what I was thinking. I ended up buying it purely out of curiosity. Won't arrive for a while though. Was under $30 so thought I'd take...

Re: Cat xls roll bar template?

Just a thought. Isn't the XL a little narrower than the XLS?

Re: Cat xls roll bar template?

Thanks. I didn't think of looking in the SWB manual. I know the xls came with pre bent wires. Did the xl come with pre bent as well?

Cat xls roll bar template?

Greetings, I've looked at the instruction manual online but I can't seem to find a template for bending the front anti roll bar. Can somebody point me in the right direction please? The only pic I can find is this one but it doesn't look to helpful : http://www.oople.com/rc/manuals/xls/imagepages/xl...

Re: Optima is back!!

Fwiw, I've been running a 13.5 brushless on my vintage chain drive with hardened final pinion. I haven't run into any problems yet but I've only run a few packs up and down the road. As always , YRMV. I could just be lucky. Nah...the original Optima had a pretty tough drivetrain, if you upgraded th...

Re: Optima is back!!

I've got a re-release Optima coming, but the last r/c car I owned was the original Optima. Things have changed a bit! So while my Optima will likely be a static model I want to build it so its ready to run. So the question is...what is the recommended modern running gear? Will the transmission hand...

Re: Optima is back!!

Geez, when I was in Japan (way too many years ago in the late 80's), the yen rate sucked, but the cars and parts were still way cheaper than buying them in the states. That's why I bought so many. (I was up to 36 at one point, now down to half that) Somewhere in this posting, someone said something...

Re: Optima is back!!

Just found out about re-release. Was hoping for the Turbo Optima Mid SE but baby steps, baby steps. Just preordered from AMain, quick seach yielded a $25 off coupon. I can hide $274.99 from the wife. I added the cheapest item I could find to my order to make the total $300+ and used the $30 ...
