Re: CVA options
I'm running the sc10/t4 cvd now. It could be that I'm also using the 12mm hex adapters which are making up the extra room over the universal pin.

Re: CVA options
Not exactly. I had to get rear hubs that took 3/16 bearings. I will look for the purchase order and get back to you. I also added the hex conversion to run modern wheels.

Re: CVA options
I installed SC10 associated CVD's in my RC10T. They were recommended to me by the service rep at associated being I couldn't find the MIP CVD's mentioned above anywhere. They have been helpful to me over there at Associated. Worth giving a call if you have any questions.

Re: Gearing suggestion please?
No problem I'm just getting back into the hobby myself. I started with 87/18p and have tinkered all the way up to 87/26p and now 84/26p. I was overheating (esc was hitting 160 degrees) doing speed runs in 90 degree weather but now the temps dropped to the 60's I can run that setup for a full battery...

Re: Gearing suggestion please?
I'm assuming you have a 87t spur. That's what I have on my T. Start with a 16-18t pinion and watch your electronic temps. There are tons of advice out on the internet but it all seems to funnel down to what your electronic components can handle. Have fun with it!

Re: New from upstate NY
Welcome Jay, Charles from downstate NY, Long Island. I myself are in the same boat as you. 35 years old and hot on the scent and sound of buzzing spur gears. I just fell in love with my RC10T all over again. I'm new to the forum myself and have found nothing but informative and helpful friends here....

Re: Castle Sidewinder ESC issue
Looking forward to your picture. I purchased a charger that had the capabilities of charging both LIPO and Nimh. Knowing that one day I would make the jump to LIPO. But judging by the comments I've been getting about the battery my LHS sold me I'm assuming the charger is crap also. It's a Prophet sp...

Re: Castle Sidewinder ESC issue
I really appreciate all the feedback guys. This forum has been a great tool in my re-entry into the hobby. I'm going to do some research and see if I can run a 3s lipo with my sidewinder3 if geared properly. I have a top shaft and V2 slipper already in my shopping cart. Any suggestions on brand of l...

Re: Ball diff/slipper
Thanks everyone for your feedback. The consensus is lipo! I'll make the change after I pay next months day care lol. I'm excited to get the lipo battery powering. 3s lipo overkill? Even if I hear down to say 15p 87s? I also plan on upgrading top shaft/V2 slipper. I find more joy in tinkering with my...

Re: Castle Sidewinder ESC issue
Part of me wishes I had sprung for the mamba pro esc. I was having problems with overheating my sidewinder and emailed castle. They basically said it was a "sporty" esc and not designed for heavy duty use. When I asked them what the Amp ratings were I started to get a run around. I'm afrai...

Re: Ball diff/slipper
I'm busy all week and won't be able to get down to my hobby shop for awhile. His hours are terrible and isn't even there half the time. He did do right by me with a few things on the house and that goes a long way in my book. . Unfortunately, he is the closed to me, and as you know hobby shops are h...

Re: Castle Sidewinder ESC issue
Does anyone know a way I can run a load test on my battery? I know for my automobile I could use the "toaster" and put on mock load to see if the battery is good. I'm not sure if I rig up something that would help me in my situation. The venom battery is literally a month old with less tha...
