Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

I've just downloaded the RC10T2 manual and found this note on page 25: arm orientation warning.JPG This note doesn't appear in the original T manual that would have been included with this truck. Unlike the T2 arms included with this truck, the original T rear arms were very different and it's easy ...

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

Anyway, unlike early T's, these arms will fit either side and there isn't the recess (or notch) that provides additional clearance for the bone. Probably because both top and bottom would require the recess (to make the arm fit either side) and maybe the arm is too thin to accommodate both recesses...

Thanks Jeff.

I can see where the bone has been rubbing so I think I will slightly notch the arm to gain a bit more clearance.

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

FYI those aren't RC10T rear arms. They're one of the later trucks. These are T1. 1000011025.png I've learned that late RC10T trucks used RC10T2 suspension parts. The truck I have uses first gen Stealth, chassis tub, etc., and was sold as an RC10T. Anyway, unlike early T's, these arms will fit eithe...

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

So I'm assembling the rear suspension using SC10 dogbones as placeholders until my order arrives. I noticed the bone collides with the arm severely limiting droop (maybe 2 or 3 degrees angle on the arm). This is with a single o-ring spacer in the axle drive cup. If the o-ring was moved to the transm...

Re: RC10 40th Anniversary boxart - Striped Decals vs Painted Stripes

... Just remembered I can use PS-55 Flat Clear on the outside of the black panels, to give them the matte/flat finish, and use PS-5 black for everything inside the body. There ya go, that's perfect. Good plan!! You can use the overspray film as masking. I've done that many times and it works great....

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Speaking of personalized builds, one member on TC has built this beauty: https://i.ibb.co/dBTVcB9/IMG-3078.jpg I think the gold anno with the light blue color he selected looks amazing! You can read about the build and see more pics here: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/106419-wtcc...

Re: RC10 40th Anniversary boxart - Striped Decals vs Painted Stripes

Just a little FYI, the two panels before and after the shock tower are black on box art. I reckon AE has included these masks so customers can personalize their builds -- which is good. Also, box art has side and front windows removed and I've done that in the past but I probably won't do it the 40t...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

I am pretty good at painting and doing bodies, but I am new to AE and the RC10 so I bought this one. Came with real netting attached to the roll cage. https://i.ibb.co/xDLtbTT/vvv.webp That looks great! Did it include the painted driver? Hi Doug, it did NOT come with the driver. I plan on painting ...

Re: RC10 40th Anniversary boxart - Striped Decals vs Painted Stripes

That's some nice work, Mike. It looks great with the CC decals.

Anyway, you just can't beat painted stripes. :D

For decals, I just warm the vinyl with a hair dryer, then press and hold them down tightly with my thumb while the vinyl cools and they will stay in place.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

...I do not trust AE cut lines or holes. I would get it mounted first then paint. For the body mount holes I like to leave the posts off and get the body fitting properly, then add the rear post by looking straight down and making a mark, install the post and cut the hole. Then on the front use a l...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

I'm guessing it makes you a wheelophile? Anyway, those look nice. Where did you find them? BTW, a word of caution when you are fitting the body. Drill the front body post hole last and ignore the center point that is marked -- it's way too far aft. :x Wheelophillia :D, or rimplaysia. Thanks!...

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

Exactly what I was thinking... wow, wouldn't have guessed A&L. That'd look cool with box art paint... or Jammin Jay style like Scr8p's replica... https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=58860&mode=view ...but with Associated decals, of course  Yep, hard to go wrong with the JJ st...
