I could use a one-way bearing and a NOS body for my Fantom, any suggestions on where I might find them?
Thanks,
Bob

Re: GOLDTUB SCORCHER BEGINS
I think SCollins makes his a little too short. Mine is Shortened by 5/8ths of an inch which puts the wheelbase at 9 7/8ths inches for the A&L rear suspension when all arms are level. This makes it just a touch long but I think it is better for it. Just my opinion...

Re: losi guru's apply
The original JRX-2 bellcrank Incorporated a vertical piece of plastic that would flex as a servo saver. This proved to be an inadequate solution so Losi popped a top plate on it taking out the servo saver action (like on your Pro). People were then forced to use the small Kimbrough servo saver to pr...

Re: What was your first Radio Control Vehicle.
Tamiya Hornet, back when I was 13 in 1985. A neighbor of mine had a Frog and there was a new housing community going up across the street. We had various dirt pits to play in for about a year. Mine was Box Art black, and I stuffed a 550 sized Kyosho mod motor in it along with a 7 cell battery and re...

If the fumes go through the fan then you will want a brushless fan. Radio Shack has a big 110V brushless unit that moves a lot of air.

Re: my runner maybe scorcher(bought #3 buggy pics added)
Your 'truck' is not much a truck, rather it has normal length arms and bones and truck tires and body mounts. If I were you I'd use the short Andy's arms and one of the 6 gear transmissions to make your Scorcher. The rear drive hub for the truck looks like it might be a standard Tamiya 5 point, whic...

Re: Indoor Painting
Just got done painting a Tamiya FAV with Rustolium. Painted it on the porch (50F outside) and let it sit out there for an hour or so to let most of the distillates evaporate. Then I moved it into a small bathroom with a space heater for 24 hours to dry (80F). I'll let the parts sit out on my desk fo...

Re: New Gold Tub Owner Setting Up For Oval Racing.
I disagree. A car set up as I suggested will be much more controllable on an oval track. And I don't think anything I suggested was overly complicated or radical in nature. What I outlined moves the center of mass of the battery to the inside by about 1 inch, this is no where near as radical as a pu...

Re: Time for a new body
Window is a bit far forward for my tasts, and there should be just the faintest lip at the end of the roofline to snap the air off of it.
Why not 'slam' it and mould in a bulge for the motor plate and diff cover?
Looks damn good though, better than most.

Re: New Gold Tub Owner Setting Up For Oval Racing.
If I may offer my suggestions for just starting out at a new track with a new car... • Don't use offset weight at all on a car with no wings or downforce... and even then, you probably don't need it. Line everything up on the centerline of the car and make it as balanced as possible. Left side bias...

Re: New Pics of Classic RC10's coming to Associateds Website??
The story I read was that Jay showed up with a car that had more like 10 cells in it and it made the real car look slow. (They had him take some cells out of it just to be able to film it.) Back in the day that meant a mechanical speed controller, not an ESC. The car in the PDF was probably an unuse...

Re: Trailing Arm Discussion
I think you will find that most molded graphite tubs will lack the strength for a suspension mount of that variety. Specifically, I think you will have to grind off the edge of the tub to get the suspension block to fit, and I don't think the chassis will last long running like that. As far as doing...

Re: Trailing Arm Discussion
The two things that are effected are the travel of the wheel and the progressiveness of the spring/shock (which is dependent on the shock angle with the arm through the arm's travel). The reality is that planting the tire properly as the chassis rolls into and out of a turn is what is important. Pro...
