Re: Yokomo RPS 834B

Happy to share, folks - that mag was given to me by Mike Darnell once I visited him for a race with some other Austinites in 1999. The guy was extremely friendly, he let us crash at his place and glue some tires in his kitchen till 2am the day before the race. The least I can do is transfer some of ...

Re: My new Kyosho Turbo Optima

That looks great, even got the rubber motor boot. The boxart paint looks a like a good job as well. It's not missing anything, the gold motor guard and side guards were Option House hop up parts and were never included in any of the Optima kits. Bit of a bummer for me as I ran a development Optima ...

Re: Yokomo RPS 834B

Ooooh, can you post the 12i review complete? Please... :) Maybe in the scans section. I knew someone would ask for that... problem is, this issue is an absolute dream of car tests so I should actually scan the whole thing which is stupid time-consuming..., 12i article soon but not today, ok?...

Re: Looking for info on the yokomo hot dog

From what I remember the HotDog was a handful to drive because of its short wheelbase... maybe building a 4wd basher from a DTM chassis isn't the best thing to do???

Re: Small YZ-870C

you can find a whole lot of these being manuf'ed in the 80's... easy to find the tamiya ones for ~$15 or so, esp the truck ones (vanessa, BF, CB, ...), on the Marui side it's a lot tougher, I have a ninja on one of my shelves. I had no idea someone had reduced the dogfighter, and it went for about $...

Re: Yokomo RPS 834B

Are you interested by a scan of a vintage ad from RCCA ca. 1986? Just drawings though, but it lists all the changes vs. the std. 834... let me know and I will scan it and post it here.

Re: My new Kyosho Turbo Optima

She's gorgeous with the box-art paint scheme - but isn't it missing a few gold bits, like the motor and side guards for instance?

Re: New Guy Here!

Hey, welcome - Losis don't generat as much vintage buzz than AE's, but still there's a few sites on the web that focus on Junior's designs. check out http://www.vintagelosi.com for instance!

Re: Tekin BC 100l

not sure the new tekin has much to do with the old one, but that's another topic.

I wouldn't charge recent NiMH with a BV100L, it will peak way too late and risk damaging the cells... the peak sensitivity is way lower on these older machines.
