Finally complete. The 33 year old decals fought me, but they're on it. Might make some minor adjustments, but it's factory down to the box art Futaba electronics. I did take the liberty of having the spare "wheel" match the others rather than being black. 20250202_143147.jpg 20250202_14330...

It has been painted, finally! I had a pro do it. bitchin_bodies_775 on Instagram if you're looking to have some work done. He's top notch. Decals to come.

My first RC kit was a Blitzer. I have a fully restored original one and one I modified to drive. They're the best.

Finished the build minus the body, used all new/very good electronics, all Futaba, as per the box. Enjoy!
I haven't decided if I'm going to tackle the body or have a pro do it. Not a terribly difficult scheme, but I'd hate to mess up.

Built a replica with the re-re Black Edition. My first Tamiya RC truck was a Quick Drive Midnight Pumpkin in the 90s, so wanted to finally build a real one. That's awesome and relieving to see that it is indeed a complete kit. Also nice to see a member here got it. I don't think I'd have it in me to build a new kit, I'd probably leave it unassembled in the box on the shelf. The FXT was my first hobby grade RC, and I hoard them like folks here have hoar...

Just saw this yesterday evening. Opened box but unassembled FXT kit. I did not bid, have too many already. Curious if anyone here on the forum won the auction. Love the wheels! They're reminiscent of the old Pro-Line LXT wheels. Classic styling.

Probably! I ordered 2 so I could keep one sealed. The other is 194.

Not sure I'd call the threaded shock bodies "early" but I measured my T3 & XXT, both shock bodies (NOT threaded) are about 1/2" outside diameter.

I LOVE the idea of using the "not shelf quality" stuff to build a runner! The last time I had a bunch of spare Losi parts laying around I ended up doing a full resto-mod LXT. Excellent work sir.

The A-1005 & A-1012 front axles are both the same length…I measure .700” length from the shoulder to the end of the axle on both of them. The only difference is the set screw to lock it against the king pin. What you are seeing on your LXT is correct due to the added inner spacer…all the other ...

I bought new axles, which of course were the same, BUT they came with (genuine) Losi nylon nuts, which are thinner (than the aftermarket ones I had) & now they're nice and flush... So I can stare at my pristine LXT on the shelf and smile
