Re: Traxxas Bullet Diff
Thanks everyone for the help. I was able to get a copy of the instruction manual from Traxxas and it showed the 4624 gear was needed for a Sledgehammer which uses the same gearbox as the Bullet. Thankfully they seem to be readily available. I posted the instructions here in case anyone runs across t...

Traxxas 4620 Ball Diff Instructions
I was having issues with an eBay purchase and was able to get this from Traxxas customer service. Since I was unable to locate anywhere online I figured I would share it here.
Thanks,
George

Re: Traxxas Bullet Diff
Thanks! So it looks like I need a 4624 gear. I found a listing for one on Amazon which indicates the gear has 68 teeth. The gear I currently have has 60 teeth. I assume this was for the Rad2 and the like which had an idler gear if I remember correctly. Is it possible that the rest of the diff is cor...

Traxxas Bullet Diff
So, I am trying to get my old decrepit Bullet running again and have been assembling some parts from ebay. It appears I hit a problem with the diff. My original diff had the bevel gears and had seen better days. I was going to buy the planetary diff when a 4620 ball diff popped up on eBay for what s...

Re: Traxxas Pivot Balls
I believe the 1942 set has the four round shank ends for the shock rods as well. They fit the underside of the spring cup and are slightly shorter as well. The balls in the 1942 kit fit the older style white and gen2 black rod ends. As previously discussed, they are a direct replacement save for th...

Re: Traxxas Pivot Balls
Thanks all for the suggestions and confirming dimensions for me. Looks like I can pick up the 1942 set for $7 at the local hobby shop so that works.
Thanks again,
George

Re: Traxxas Pivot Balls
Thanks everyone. The original balls look to be 5.7mm in diameter and 6.33mm (1/4") in length. While they are similar in style to the 7028's it appears they are too small.
juicedcoupe - Can you tell me if the length of the 1942 balls is the same?
Thanks,
George

Traxxas Pivot Balls
I have been looking for some replacement pivot balls for an old Bullet I am trying to get to running condition. Originally these were available as Traxxas part number 1642 which included both the pivot balls and rod ends. This part number is no longer available but I see other offerings from Traxxas...

Re: Hello from Newburgh, NY
Welcome! I am going through the same motions with some of my older RC cars and others picked up along the way. I have found good help from the people on this board and I am sure you will find the same.
Thanks,
George

Re: Shock Identification
Thanks! I was not aware Trinity made/sold shocks and it looks like this was happening while I was actively racing. From what I found on the dirt-burners site they were color coded for application and the green ones are for the Blackfoot. Trinity Green.JPG This is from the '92-'93 Trinity catalog I f...

Shock Identification
I purchased a used Tamiya Blackfoot many years ago and it ended up boxed up in the attic as it was when I got it. I have started to clean it up and repair/replace parts in effort to run it again. The truck had these green shocks installed in the rear position which appear to be to long busting the m...

Re: TRX-10 Bullet Kick-Up Angle
Chewbacca - Thanks for the picture. This does make it clear that it would be as simple as cutting flush with the shock tower mounting surface. And, good to hear that the upper shock tower mounting points are the same. This may give me a relatively inexpensive solution and be stronger than my 3d prin...

Re: TRX-10 Bullet Kick-Up Angle
Chewbacca - I printed one of the versions I found on Thingiverse (4504756) in PETG and it will work for now. I hope to attempt some nylon prints in the future. The two versions I found at Thingiverse (2174253 and 4504756) are slightly different. One is set up for 24.45deg and the other is 21.9. Sinc...
