Re: Procat/Bosscat prototype...

Actually, I got it off of e-bay (LOL). As fro the red parts, they are the front spacers that space the front tranny up above the chassis to provide clearence for the pulley and belt. I one piece unit appears to be broken so I imagine it incorporated a bumper of some type at one point. You can see th...

Procat/Bosscat prototype...

Well, here is the car I picked up a couple of weeks ago. It appears to be a Procat, with several Bosscat production and pre-production parts. It has a custom CF/Kevlar chassis, as well as some modified molded parts -e.g. pre-production molded pieces before all the bugs were worked out. LMK if you ha...

Re: Project OptiMutt - Finished

Hey, have you run those rear tires? If not can we trade for them? I recently aquired a PB mini mustang, and those are the perfect tire for that car. I can send you other/different ones. LMK -J

Re: Jurgen Lautenbach prototype pics...

Yup, that was it. Thanks. I picked up a lot on e-bay this week, and one of the cars in it is a Procat, with a bunch of Bosscat production, and pre-production parts on it. It is a little later than the car in this thread, but definitely a factory prototype car. I am pretty excited about it. I will po...

Jurgen Lautenbach prototype pics...

I seem to remember someone here had a car of his that had been run at the worlds or worlds warm-up. It was in incomplete condition, but was a prototype hybrid between a late procat, early bosscat. I can't seem to find the post any longer. Can someone re-post or direct me to the thread? Thanks -J

Yeah, that one killed me. You have to do each page independently, but well worth it -if you are bored. -J

Re: How rare are these chassis

They are a little rare, as they were an option part. However, I wouldn't go big on it as I think you can still order them from Fyberlyte. Check their site tho before quoting me  . -J

Re: Ah, you can tell summer is almost here when...(vid updat

Yeah, rattlers are nothing to toy with. Better safe then sorry. They are also quite territory driven. If you do manage catch and release one, they will spend the rest of their life trying to get back to their home range (this is also quite stressful for them). Also, they often come in female/male pa...

Re: Paint not sticking

Been custom painting for over 20 years, and have seen it all. Lately however, I have seen ALLOT of paint falling off of bodies, more than I would expect. I can only assume that something has changed that would effect the integration of newer paints into newer plastics. I recently tried Tamiyas (very...

Re: Lazer ZX / ZXR Rear Bet Tensioner

Well, with the lever design as shown, a hole is cut in the case. I suppose one could cut a rectangular hole in the case, and pull the static tensioner out to change bearings. I reality, once the tension is set, one would not adjust it very often. -J

Re: Lazer ZX / ZXR Rear Bet Tensioner

I think a combo of the two is not a bad idea. I like the adjustable lever type like Welshy's, but the simplicity of the other. I have used on many cars (and planned to on my lazer) a single, properly placed post with bearings. Then to properly tension, you change the size of the bearing. No flex, an...
