Re: Turbo Mid Score

I picked up a regular Optima Mid chassis, so I could mock everything up, especially the body, before a NIP chassis I've secured arrives. Guy even traded me a set of Mid rims for some Triumph battery trays. The Penguin body, spur cover, wing and undertray arrived today, along with a NIP upper chassis...

Re: RC10 Team Car Redux

Honestly, I don't see any awful mistakes. All of your cars look awesome to me. 8) So, I'm a little confused (that's common for me  ) which one needed to be wet-sanded :?: One of my best friends has the number plate 'XLR8'! It's been on Skylines, a 350Z, a 370Z and now his WRX. :D So, the seco...

Re: The 'Family'.

That is one impressive collection! 8) And you have even more that is not in the picture? This got me thinking of getting some more Losi cars... :D Yeah, The new built never run Street Weapon IWCE, the BK2 and every truck they made to the final XXT CR Graphite Plus. The XXX stuff just...

RC10 Team Car Redux

I had the chance to buy an RC10 Team Car that had been raced for most of it's life around 5 or so years ago. I really liked Viper bodies and wanted to do a paint job along the lines of my Gold Pan, but it turned out AWFUL. I tried to remedy the situation by plastering it with the coolest vintage dec...

The 'Family'.

I think I have a touch of OCD. What began years ago with the purchase and restoration of a JRX2 because I thought the 5 link rears were funky, turned into buying and restoring with box art bodies, every Losi buggy, touring car (Street Weapon IWCE) and truck made, from the first JRX2 until drawing th...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Ultima SCORE/Build Thread

u need to enter that in BOTM A-I think I've hijacked this thread, my apologies to the OP. B-I restored that car over 10 years ago and have much nicer vintage restorations than that. I thought JRX2s were just silly fun looking with that 5 link rear, so I bought one and restored it. Then I needed a J...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Ultima SCORE/Build Thread

Build it, paint it box art, put some Tamiya wheels and tires on it, run it once, then shelve it. I had one when I was 13 in 1989, it was super fun! A friend got an Avante as a Birthday present and was talking all kinds of smack of how he was going to drag my ass. By the time he gets it built and co...

Re: Turbo Mid Score

Does anyone know if a Turbo Mid should have plastic or alloy steering knuckles? Mine came with both. Original knuckles are cast aluminum, same as the Optima. Nylon knuckles might be an upgrade option. Sorry to hear your TBG body experiences weren't up to par, I hope their QA isn't slipping...everyt...

Re: Turbo Mid Score

Marwan was out of stock, so I went with a Penguin body, wing, undertray and spur cover. The Bluegroove bodies I've been buying for other projects had thin spots everywhere. I bought a Penguin undertray for my Lazer ZX and the quality was much better. Picked up a NIP SWB upper chassis and a decal she...

Just trying to find a new SWB chassis and I think I sold the new wheels I had, too. :(

That's a Custom Special chassis, isn't it?
I've got a carbon Mid Special chassis, too, and a new set of wheels...somewhere.

Turbo Mid Score

I hope everyone is coping with the pandemic as best you can. I just picked this lot up, it cost me a good US$300, but I think it's worth it. Sold the Dynatech to a mate, so that took the cost down. Looks like a Proline or JG truck conversion and a Sassy chassis-might put some tires on it and run it ...

My Unhinged Bigwig

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone had a great day with family. I've owned a few Bigwigs, both in the late '80's and one I built one about ten years ago, by buying every part until I had a complete kit, ready to assemble, in front of me. That one was fun. Couldn't help snap a re-release up. I originally...

Re: OPEN losi xx4 discussion

I pulled the shocks off my 22-4 and bolted them on my XX-4 WE for s#*ts and giggles, didn't take any photos, unfortunately. Bolted right up, pretty much. I could bolt them back on and take some photos, if you really need them? I can use shocks from a 22-4, or a Ten SCTE 3.0 on either an early XX-4, ...
