Re: Scan request: RC10 set up for carpet oval circa 1991

no problem, it was just good timing, as I was digging out my old rc stuff and had the mags right there. incidentally, I have a complete archive of issues from Jan 89 to jan 94, so a nice 4 yr snapshot. so if you need anything else, let me know. the more info the better so I don't have to track it do...

Re: Your biggest mistake

I remember seeing an original tamiya avante in the scratch 'n dent section in a towerhobbies flyer and not jumping on it. Of course, I probably would have bashed the crap out of it, but it would have been sweet either way by now..... my other mistake(s) is tossing or letting most of my manuals get r...

Re: Tale of two projects.

mcmaster carr also sells some cheaper fluoropolymer(teflon) sheet with an adhesive side, thin, too, so it's not too heavy. I remember looking at it when researching something recently.

Re: Scan request: RC10 set up for carpet oval circa 1991

OK, i found a couple of articles that might be what you are talking about. I looked in 90-91 time frame, and found an article about a mid motor rc10 swap. I looked all over to try and find this lowering conversion the guy did, there was nothing in 90-91 like that, so i dug earlier, and I had to go b...

Re: TOO MUCH WING? OR NOT ENOUGH CAR?!

it's hard to tell, is that the double decker wing? If so, I got one with a car back in the day, I put it on my RC10, the upper panel was painted dark blue. everything else stayed clear. looked pretty cool.

Re: Scan request: RC10 set up for carpet oval circa 1991

cool thanks for the heads up. just quickly looking at the stack, I had a ton of them from the 89-93 era. I have to go through them and sort them out. I'll look for the carpet oval article.

do you know if the car you are talking about was on the cover?

Re: jrx2 versus RC10

I would say it's just because the hobby and cars have evolved to the point that there isn't much left to improve. you could also say that the jrx2 was an even closer approximation of an ultima as well.(minus the aluminum chassis). i'm just glad enough people liked the hobby enough and companies made...

Re: Help with a track design

at the home improvement store, you might be able to get some rebar or threaded rod (either in the concrete section, or the drop ceiling section), or maybe even in the garden section, for plant supports, just long metal rods to do the same thing those galvanized spikes would do.

Re: Questions for electronics wizards

unless you pulled the diodes off the board, and know there aren't any more numbers, you might be reading the date code, if you can carefully bend one of them off to the side, you might see another number on there. Also, the earlier poster was probably right, it's probabyly C253, and it's companion. ...

Re: is this the right 6 gear part?

I have no idea if there are supposed to 2 or 6 in the pack, but if you got it for a reasonable price, and they fit in the diff, I think you scored well, as opposed to it being a scam.

Re: The Andy's Family................

yeah, it would be cool to have a 'garage' showroom, kinda like the tamiya club one.....but if you are interested enough in something, it's awesome that you can pretty much find it here.
