Re: Kinwald Mirage SS Body - Scribe Lines
trick is to go slowly and make small cuts. you know roughly how tall the pan is, so your bottom cuts should start there plus some maybe 1/2" or so. then you have to align the rear shock tower and trim out that area so the body will start to sit on the chassis. you can grab another used body an...

Re: Kinwald Mirage SS Body - Scribe Lines
Not having cut lines was common back in the day. Especially with how many bodies were intended to fit multiple applications. Only trick is having good judgement... Which is why so many bodies are cut up like deranged school projects. I'm just now getting competent in cutting them WITH the lin...

Kinwald Mirage SS Body - Scribe Lines
I think I know the answer to this - but I'm fairly confident from speaking with AE (and by looking at the J. Concepts Mirage SS body that they utilized for the BK car) that it does not have scribe/cut lines on the body. Was this fairly common back in the day? I'm worried I'll make a right mess of th...

Re: Ok to clock/rotate carb assembly?
Are you able to reduce the servo travel on your controller? For steering, I sometimes need to go down to 70% travel in a direction because the steering stops get reached before full servo travel. Yes, I run a 10PX. I was actually surprised how much I had to limit throws on the steering servo, and b...

Re: Ok to clock/rotate carb assembly?
Yes you can rotate the carb so it lines up with the linkage it won't affect it negatively in anyway. The brake linkage should be pulling the brake lever to engage it not pushing, so it shouldn't deform too much in operation but I'm not sure how much you're seeing. Yes, it is pulling while simultane...

Ok to clock/rotate carb assembly?
I'm nearing the end of my re-re GT build and noticed the high speed needle assembly on the .15S engine AE released hits the brake cam lever. Is there any reason I can't slightly clock/rotate the carb to clear the lever? I suppose my other option is to raise the engine itself up via shims as that wou...

Re: Another question or two for you GT Pros
On all of my RC10's, I loose mount the servos first. It isn't uncommon for them to be a little out of alignment. If you are trying to use screws or washers that locate the servo, they will limit the amount of play that you have to work with. I'm using the kit supplied washers, and they don't appear...

Another question or two for you GT Pros
Were they always this fussy about the steering servo size? I planned to use Futaba S-U305 servos all around, but they're a bit too wide and the servo mounts don't line up with the chassis holes. I'm hoping they'll fit better on some of the other AE re-release kits I've accumulated, but I'm guessing ...

RC10GT Spur options
My kit spur on the re-re GT has a fair bit of runout. Does the TA/Kimbrough (part 7662) play nice with the re-release? It's hard to tell if the center hole is correctly sized for the slipper plate/bearing.

Re: JCR Molded Wings
That's what I was afraid of. I'll make do with what's available, but I do wish I could at least track one down that matched the dull-orange you see on something like the Masami's 93 Yokomo.

JCR Molded Wings
I'd like to pick up a couple of the JCR molded wings that I've seen quite a few members use (it seems Masami used them often), but I'm not seeing the one's with the shorter vertical stabs anywhere. I know Ruben at Rubrix sells them, but they're the taller variety. For those running these, are you ju...

Re: The Kinwald Edition RC10 (it is here!)
This makes me want to source a Hydra Drive and all the extra bits to really take it to the next level. That said, I'm impressed AE went as far as they did to get it 90% of the way there. My favorite release from them thus far, for sure. Edit: Eh, maybe not on the Hydra Driver considering what they'r...

Re: Possible Kinwald Edition RC10 inbound?
Pardon my ignorance as I'm still coming up to speed on the RC10 lineage, but if going off the post that Ruben made about the specs, is this a more faithful replica vs. the World re-re they did a few years back? And what's the story with the iridium infused tower?

Re: RC10 Re-release shock seal options
Got it - so even the x-rings for the modern AE race buggies are still the same size/fit well in the re-release RC10's? Good to know! Thanks for the suggestions.
