Re: Help me do 40+

Thanks for the tips guys. Ran fine with the bushings for now. Set the timing back to zero and still hitting 37. Which is plenty. I just wanted to see 40 just to say I did. That being said, I'm hearing some noise now at low speed just puttering around. And also feeling some slop and kind of skipping ...

Re: Help me do 40+

How is play adjustable? Seems they just push in, put the spring, dogbone, shims and pin in and done.

Re: Help me do 40+

*not electronics related but prolly not worth a new thread. Buuut my right rear wheel was wobbling and i thought maybe the nut was loose. Nope....Anyone have any idea why my right rear wheel bearing would just disintegrate? I was always under the impression that bearings were an 'upgrade' from stock...

Re: Help me do 40+

Well it's official. The 40th hit 40. Bumped the turbo timing to 7° and added only 3° boost timing. The electronics are still new to me so baby steps. Damn near 36,000 RPM. Still drives like a dream. Smooth as silk. (Not pictured: 108° motor temp) Thanks for the tips and comments and for playing alon...

Re: Help me do 40+

OK now I'm trippin. Not going to repost duplicate pics, but you can see my programmer recorded a max RPM of 33,670 when my GPS logged 35mph. Yesterday GPS got me at 37mph after I added 5° turbo timing. Buuuuutttt.....my programmer shows that my 37mph pass max RPM was 32,378. Make it make sense lol. ...

Re: Help me do 40+

Went into esc settings and added 5* on turbo timing.....
Got to 37....
Motor at 102*F after 15mins of full throttle passes. (Temp gun)
Keep going on the timing? Am I pushing my luck?

Re: Help me do 40+

Not scared of 40. 35 drives like a dream. Fast and smooth as glass. Definitely worried about grenade-ing the stock transmission. I chose the 20t pinion by way of all the math to get a fdr close to the 7.2 ish range based on reading a ton of recommendations on this site and elsewhere. Have the slippe...

Help me do 40+

Hey guys, just signed up and it seems like the 40th builds posts have kinda fizzled out. But I just finished mine and burned some rubber and thought for sure she was hitting 40. Bought the GPS thing and although it feels gnarly fast, it's apparently only 35. Modern electronics-wise i guess my questi...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Well now I'm scared to drive it at all. It was one thing wanting slicks so I could hook up better when I was test driving before I got deep into the paint and decals and added the KC lights. Obviously i did nothing like the box art. Smoked a doobie and started slicing up the decals and tinkering. Ho...

Maybe its better a little squirrelly lol. If she hooks up I'll prolly flip it and crash and burn.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Thought about doing just that. Order new stock tires and go nuts. But I remember when I was a kid I got some slicks type street tires that fit. Was thinking different tires would probably handle better and last longer on asphalt....? I read somewhere here to look at Jconcepts, but I think they were ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

So I put the stock knobbys on a set of DHawk Tuah's and the second I was charged and running i couldn't resist taking her to the street and immediately shredding them. I've searched but don't know what to look for as far as street tires that will fit the stock wheels.....I'd like stock white nylon w...
