Re: Vintage AE Ad -- 1979 RC12E "Go Racing With The Team"

Here is another pic. It's from the ROAR regionals at SRS Raceway in Tempe, AZ. I'm sorry the pic is a bit blurry. I don't remember all the driver's names. From left to right in the picture... unknown, Big Jim Greenemeyer?, Tony Neisinger, Kent, Jeff Abrams, Randy Hunter, unknown, unknown, Rick Howar...

Re: Vintage AE Ad -- 1979 RC12E "Go Racing With The Team"

Well, I dug through some old photos and came to the conclusion that my dad was not a good photographer. Almost all the pics are blurry and/or from across the track at the driver's stand or the starting grid. I did however find 3 pics that are okay. A brief history... Frank Killam who is somewhat leg...

Re: Vintage AE Ad -- 1979 RC12E "Go Racing With The Team"

Dirtdiver, When I was a kid Tony was a club member at our local track. He is a huge Van Halen fan. Back in the day, his daily driver was a Toyota Supra with "Van Hln" license plates and he would come rolling up to the track cranking the Van Halen tunes. All of his bodies were black / gold ...

Re: Vintage AE Ad -- 1979 RC12E "Go Racing With The Team"

Kent, it's cool to see you here on the forum. Back in the day when I was a kid, I raced all of Frank Killam's carpet races (and other tracks as well) in So Cal and got to see you, Tony, Randy Hunter, Killam, etc dice it out on the track and it was awesome to see. I still keep in touch with Frank and...

Maurice, we're still doing some testing and aren't quite ready yet. I want to make sure it's flawless before we unveil it. Stay tuned. ;-)

Re: Associated 1/12 12R5.1 ?

I was recently speaking to Gary McAllister about some of his 1/12 bodies from the 80's and he said the modern 1/12 cars are about 1/2" wider than the old school cars.

Re: L-cars

I'm planning on making it to this one. I've talked to a couple of buddies to see if we can get a group together, also I'll call some friends in Southern CA to see if we can get them out there. I'm pretty rusty and pan car racing, will there be a "I'm too rusty to run with the experts" clas...

Re: L-cars

Vintage On Road Nationals huh? Hmmm I'm really interested. Where can I get some info about the race such as what classes will be run, what tires, batteries and motors are allowed, etc?

Xanadu here are a few more pics. It's a bit dusty from being stored in the garage. Also I removed the motor and ESC to temporarily put in another car.

Re: Custom Works Dominators and Kraft radio

bscotti... Yes, I believe you're correct about the one being a first gen. I bought the cars from a friend who mentioned that one is a very early model prior to it being called a Dominator, at the time everyone still called it a Langraff. The other car is a later model. Dirtdiver... I actually have a...

Thanks for the welcome. I've been trying to hunt down some parts. Other than Ebay, do you happen to know of some other resources?

L-cars

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself and share pics of a couple EBay finds I just got. A buddy told me about RC10talk so I had to check it out. My name is Dean and as a kid I began racing an RC12I back in the 80's in Southern CA, I've often heard people refer to that time as t...
