i have one of those bodies,i havent attempted to paint it. i dont know if i ever will but is it one of the coolest oval bodies i ever seen.That body would be a nightmare to paint, but very cool in style!
those are heat sinks for heavy duty wirewound ceramic resistors. slot car gurus used them on the massive resistors that would stick out the top of the controllers. since the resistors were hollow one heatsink would go in each end of the resistor.I've had these in my toolbox for a decade
