Re: Top speed?
Assuming a few things - http://dhrc.rchomepage.com/RolloutCalc.htm:
54 tooth spur (but if not stock this would be wrong)
14 tooth pinion (???)
1.83 internal ratio (6-gear - this right?)
2.6 inch outside rear wheel diameter
this is for 8.4V battery 4900kv motor
gives you 40 mph

Re: Top speed?
I saw on another forum using a video camera and video editor over a measured distance and counting the frames (i.e. 30 frames per second)....better than eye and stopwatch....I would say. Again depth may be an issue though - i.e. wide angle over 100ft to determine exact crossing of both lines.

Re: Top speed?
Keep in mind there is at least 25+% error (probably much more) timing across 100ft - and the % error increases with higher mph.... i.e. human error starting and stopping the watch right on the line - depth perception from 100ft away etc - especially if you are trying to do it yourself. Best you can ...

Re: Stealth transmission hole template
Bringing this topic back from the dead - can I get a copy of this template? I could use one as well. Though I hate to drill an 'A' Chassis. If only we had a plate that would mount stealth, then mount the whole plate to the original chassis. I made one of these (real rough from a piece of nylon with...

Re: Totally overwhelmed! ESC's, Motors, Servo's, Gearing
Try a MG996R - metal gears (I busted some plastic ones before I got these) - not the fastest thing (compared to $60-80 servos) but you can get em as cheap as $7-8 from HK or $15 on ebay (US) and you arent racing so speed isnt all that necessary anyway. Have two of them - one in an OFNA Hyper Mini an...

Re: ESC Question
I will have to eat crow for now at least... They sent me a sidewinder v2 - I guess they redesigned it? maybe fixed the manual trigger problem for the brushed motors. Haven't had a chance to try it though Update: wired it up - no go - the trigger problem is fixed but red/black to the motor doesn't wo...

Re: ESC Question
So I contacted the seller to send it back and then use the extra I would spend on a castle link usb dohicky to get a different ESC. But instead Castle says they are going to send me a new one - why would they send me a new one if you had to have the link to get it into brushed mode? They obviously t...

ESC Question
Just upgraded to a brushless ESC with has a brushed motor mode. I currently only have brushed motors so I am running it in brushed mode. Problem is it just pulses the motor on full throttle - any ideas on why it is doing this? I am pretty sure it accepted the brushed mode in the settings - I did it ...

Re: Brushless RC10 buggy/oval
No clue unless you time it - here is a link to calc the theoretical max mph based on a specific setup...the traxxas and castle numbers are probably calculated/calibrated (if at all) for a specific car/weight/etc - or could just be the theoretical max too - i.e. using the "marketing" speed ...
