Re: Blue Eagle LS
Well guys, Got the BE-LS completed (as far as I'm going with it) She's pretty much shelf material in my eyes. (I know theres others that may dislike that) but thats basicly how I treat alot of the vintage stuff, as collectables not runners. Good chance I will post this on the market, Have had a coup...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Anyone know what this 8th scale chassis is? I believe it is from an European manuf. I seem to recall finding it online at some point, but I haven't had much luck finding it again today. Thanks in advance. Graupner RC Car or Graupner "Sidewinder" http://www.classic.rc-junkies.net/?p=46 htt...

Re: Blue Eagle LS
peuge73, Nice lookin ride there, clean lookin install on the electronics. Blacked out is pretty sweet too. Yeah, I'm afraid, mine won't see much of the ground, I may throw in some VTG electronics, and buzz it around inside my buddy's warehouse a few times. I don't wanna risk damaging any of the orig...

Re: Blue Eagle LS
Well guys, Got most of it reassembled. All new gears in the transmission, she's nice and smooth now. Basicly 95% new screws. Still got a few more pieces to install, and mount the tires, waiting on a set of fresh wheels. I also went back to the original width bumper, the shorter cut down one had a ni...

Re: Just scored a TRX-1
Oh yeah gotta love those sick 90's colors huh..... Just got the body here today, and it's in great shape, just one little 1/4" crack near the left front tower area. The front body mount whole isnt even cut out. I'm gonna try and keep the paint scheme intact and just redo the white in hope...

Re: Just scored a TRX-1
Got the TRX1 about 2 weeks ago, She's a little bit rough around the edges, Tires are dry rotted and the rear wheels are chipped/cracked, which kinda sucks, as I wanted to keep the stock fronts-rears, which are pretty much impossible to find. But it is what it is. Body has a few cracks, that I can/wi...

Re: Blue Eagle LS
Well got all the parts cleaned up, They look alot better then before, I ordered some gears for the trans, I'm just going with a delrin top gear, aluminum idler and the stock 4660 diff gear. That way I will keep it more or less stock with the ball diff. Once my gears come in, and holiday passes, I wi...

Re: Vintage Traxxas RUNNERS only
Very cool!
Looks like your SRT runs pretty darn smooth there, and holds that track quite well.

Re: Blue Eagle LS
A super clean LS you have there. The gears look really worn out. Good thing the PO put the chassis protector on it for you haha So are you going to put upgrade gears in it to handle brushless motor? Thanks man, Yeah on a closer inspection, the gears are worn pretty good, I think I have a complete s...

Re: Blue Eagle LS
Little bit of a update, Started tearing it apart for a good thorough cleaning. I was able to get the protective film off the chassis, using a hot blow dryer, with out too much effort, there were a few areas where a heavy sticky residue was left behind, but used some Goo Gone gel on it, let it sit fo...

Re: Just scored a TRX-1
Looks sweet! Whats the plans for this one? For starters the normal tear down, clean-up. I know it needs a driveshaft for sure, which I have. I'll have to wait and see what all it's gonna take to get her up and rollin, Would like to bring her back to stock life as much as possible. As usual I have m...

Just scored a TRX-1
Hey guys, While I got my Blue Eagle LS thread/project going, I just scored this TRX-1. I'm pretty stoked about finding this one, Got it for a very fair price IMO. $75.00 shipped! I had a TRX-1 back in the early 90's, beat the snot out of it, it sat in a box for years, I parted what was left of it ou...

Re: Blue Eagle LS
8) Nice one Dave. Looks to be in really nice shape. Wasn't this the one that he thought the idler was bad in it? Todd p.s. you know you wanna go brushless  Thanks Todd, I don't think there was any mention of a bad idler? I could be wrong though :? Actually it kinda sounds like a bad idler,...
